Since it's a federal LEO who was uniformed it would be the federal equivalent to Capital Murder and a potential Death penalty case.
Only for the person that landed the killing blow. Felony murder has an exception for capital punishment that only the person that committed the murder can be sentenced to, accomplices cannot.

What I was going to mention though, is that all the murder conspiracy, attempted murder + conspiracy, etc, the charges are actually going to be much more serious because of the multiple felony charges related to rioting (whatever those are) that will be brought with it. That essentially makes it much worse, and adds many many many years to the sentencing. And whats good is it to win the murder conspiracy charge, if your other charges are still possibly gonna get you 50 years, unless you have a good lawyer i guess, dont open your mouth before you have one, and maybe get concurrent and plea down to testify....

There are generally enhancements for most Crimes against persons if the actor knew that the victim was a law enforcement officer, Public Official, First Responder etc. The list varies based on state etc. So, I understand that there isn't capital punishment for co-conspirators @Maw but is there a penalty enhancement for LEOs on felony murder charges?

I would think so. But I am no longer active LEO and I am a bit rusty on my penal codes and statutes.

Yes, goes toward maximum sentencing.
So upgraded on life in prison could end up netting the death penalty.
It's exceedingly rare in modern days though.
Unless you perform terroristic acts/murdering children/families.
Given the insurrection aspect, it could very well potentially earn a death penalty.
Since that's a lot of sentence modifiers.
Serious sentence modifiers.
It could take 10-20+ years before that sort of punishment actually happened though.
