@inwa many times people get a record, become part of the system and never get out

2021-01-13 15:44:37 UTC

When your policy change concept doesn't come to fruition, don't be surprised. Poison in the pot is just now able to come to full boil.

2021-01-13 15:45:07 UTC

@Eden the left is against for profit prisons. These prisons donated a ton of money to Trump

2021-01-13 15:45:36 UTC

@inwa we certainly won’t see any movement in that direction under republicans

2021-01-13 15:46:30 UTC

No, they often times get out over and over again and then resort back to their life of crime and cycle back through.

2021-01-13 15:46:59 UTC

Dems will all together push for decriminalization of drug possession and drug use (which I'm absolutely FOR), but they will also SLIP INTO THE BILL things like petty theft less than 1k, petty breakins to the cars, anything that has to do with homelessness and drug use. SO

THE EFFECT: there will be no accountability for any behavior, especially among minorities. There will be more DUIs, there will be more violence against regular folks (due to theft and no money), and more severe violence because on the TRADE side there will be more brutality due to higher profits and no accountability on small volume sales and usage.... means drug lords will go wild!

2021-01-13 15:47:36 UTC

Sometimes they are drug back in because they can’t pay a fine and end up in a endless cycle of being in the system @inwa

2021-01-13 15:48:32 UTC

@Eden thats sounds like a speculative sky is falling made up excuse

2021-01-13 15:48:38 UTC

What I'm talking about is I am FOR ALL decriminalization of illegal drugs, similar to alcohol, and taxation etc, making sure labs meet safety standards, etc etc, have to be 25+ to buy.... and QUALITY has to be ABSOLUTELY controlled by FDA (this part HAS to be criminalized with severe penalties) - then those fentanyl deaths will go away

2021-01-13 15:48:57 UTC

You will never get that with republicans @Eden

2021-01-13 15:49:16 UTC

which part?

2021-01-13 15:49:38 UTC

I have some old friends who are high up in the weed decrim ngos. The idea is to decriminalize but make the prices go sky high through taxes which will go to minority causes. It's nothing like what Oregon has where everyone can grow and the price plummets

2021-01-13 15:49:40 UTC

I/WE will neve get that with either republicans or democrats for the next 50 years

2021-01-13 15:50:00 UTC

but what I posted ABOVE with dems can and LIKELY will happen

2021-01-13 15:50:10 UTC

Are you advocating for loosened restrictions of legal opiates?

2021-01-13 15:50:18 UTC

@Eden you are more likely to get decriminalization with democrats than you are with republicans

2021-01-13 15:51:01 UTC

Pharma is not going to let us have drugs, nor will weed be free to grow yourself in most places.

2021-01-13 15:51:10 UTC

@Eden what you posted above is just a speculation you have. It’s just a random fear.

2021-01-13 15:51:17 UTC

no its not

2021-01-13 15:51:23 UTC

The drug company monopolies are too valuable

2021-01-13 15:52:29 UTC

The goal is to keep non violent offenders out of prison and make sure they their entire life isn’t ruined by mistakes people make in their youth

2021-01-13 15:52:34 UTC

this is already exactly the statutes that are being introduced in Seattle and Portland

In California and some other States, it is no longer arrestable (not even prosecuted, but even arrested) .... arrestable offense to steal anything worth less than 900 USD

2021-01-13 15:53:10 UTC

yes, and so do all the liberals say when they campaign - now the facts are as above however

2021-01-13 15:54:15 UTC

This is years old right wing fear mongering @Eden they say that about everything

2021-01-13 15:54:16 UTC

this is NOT SPECULATION, its a fact - this is ALREADY BROUGHT LEGISLATION

2021-01-13 15:54:31 UTC

More sky is falling stuff

2021-01-13 15:54:52 UTC

please look up portland city counsil and seattle city council statutes that they brought up in the last 204 years

2021-01-13 15:54:58 UTC

2-4

2021-01-13 15:55:28 UTC

so that's your ability to respond to an argument and "discourse" a fact? "the sky is falling"?

2021-01-13 15:56:14 UTC

I mean thats exactly why I said that there is no discourse with Dems.... because there is no response other than "fear mongering" and "the sky is falling"

2021-01-13 15:56:19 UTC

So victims of crime are not defensible?

2021-01-13 15:56:50 UTC

the city plans to set up a fund to partially or reasonably or unreasonably compensate them

2021-01-13 15:57:26 UTC

Yeah just more fear mongering @Eden

2021-01-13 15:58:07 UTC

It’s like laws can’t be changed . Like let’s say these laws get passed and negative effects are seen you think it can’t be reversed

2021-01-13 15:58:16 UTC

Nothing is set in stone

2021-01-13 15:58:25 UTC

@james j do you know, that ANY and I mean ANY at all argument or logical discourse that you can eve make, I can respond with "the sky is falling" or this is just fear mongering"..... like ANY at all, that is if I had nothing intelligent to say to contradict with a VALID point of view that would be considered???

2021-01-13 15:59:10 UTC

Again you will never have a society where people on the lower rungs of society can have adequate social mobility under republican rule

2021-01-13 15:59:27 UTC

are you kidding me????? PLEASE give me an example of ONE (lets say 2 is better) LAWS that were EVE changed in LESS THAN 20 YEARS....

2021-01-13 15:59:29 UTC

Prisons will be filled and they want it to be filled because for profit prisons donate to them

2021-01-13 15:59:50 UTC

Yes because society was more conservative further back in time you go

2021-01-13 15:59:54 UTC

@james j are you kidding me????? PLEASE give me an example of ONE (lets say 2 is better) LAWS that were EVE changed in LESS THAN 20 YEARS....
