Well my family isn't very culturally celebratory, most of what I know about my family I had to find out myself, but I celebrate the people around me who have gotten me to where I am today. Whether they be friends, family, or community. Meditation, socializing, relaxing, or doing a simple hobby can brighten your daily life by just that much.

Culture and heritage is important too, but it's not like your missing out on anything. If you want to experience the world through a cultural view- travel and find it.

think of it this way; why be prideful of your individual identity when plenty of people are like you already. you form an in-group and you've invented tribalism which is essentially diet racism.

But if they value their individual self too little, then it's likely that they are not free-thinking, and prefer to stay with the herd.
