What a total jackass that customer is. It makes no difference what surface the virus is on, hands or gloves—it passes just the same. Best thing to do is not say anything and let him leave.

The best practice would simply be to clean hands between transactions, and perhaps even spray the bills and coins in the drawer with Lysol 99.9% spray.
