same, like i'm so burnt out on school it's hard to focus or be motivated
ill play video games at night, and work the farm during the day.
Rejecting technology feels so wrong and like it's snubbing the inventors and all the smart people out there but at the same time, I don't need to be good at video games or to be a rocket scientist
If my eyes could show my soul, everyone would cry as they see me smile
technically a homestead its not large enough to provide for more than us
my garbage ass gets kicked back to the lobby everytime i play a game
and the rest of the land gets rented out to pay the taxes lol
Taxes
Everyone's best friend!
Tax lol
Has anyone actually had any experience homesteading?
Taxes are unconstitutional
Especially the democrats, they love giving taxes
property taxes on 300 acres is a bit much. but by renting out most of it, it covers the taxes and any other bills
I have experience with plant farming, and chicken raising and keeping
because im not going to actually be able to go totally off grid, i like the internet too much
for gaming
Not necessarily as full time as homesteading but I know how to get started
We fight Britain for less tax then we get a 25% tax after war
ive grown enough for us to eat before, and i did have small farm animals as a child, so its not going to be a big deal
How hard we talking? Like, consumes your life and forces you to work since you were a kid hard or something a lazy adult could learn?
also ive got like 25 books on homesteading
Oo
I'm beginning to consider only using computers at the library as well
You: heck yeah I won the lottery 100,000 dollars government: hold up pal
Which is dumb since I sunk $500 into my PC recently
Virtual machines and VPNs
At the same time, money can't make you happy
depends. to keep 5 people alive, most of the year we will each have to do a few hours of work a day, but.. its not a huge hassle
Enough to legitimately explore the woods?
My other big thing is do I have to kill animals or can I survive on eggs and crops?
uh, if there are woods. there arent really a lot where im going lol
Gosh, I'm a soyboy
IDK why but I need woods. No one knows how much I love woods
you can survive on eggs. but... you would be better off eating meat as well
It depends on how much into homesteading you’d be, some plants need to be checked on and watered twice a day to have a good full harvest, and chickens need to be monitored for the first month or two of their lives as they’re small and need a heat lamp, but once the chickens are grown you just have an enclosure and feed them, change their water once a day and you’re fine, they take care of themselves. The plants usually do fine by themselves as long as you can force yourself to water them at least once every day and fertilize once a week (separate from the once a day watering)
Probably
Rocky Mountain forest best place
No agriculture tho
we are doing rabbits, chickens or ducks, not both, and quail. maybe, maybe. also goats
