well, think back to the days you were a blue piller
*than* @Deleted User
Touche
@Master Golan Yes. I am having this issue on religion/politics and now add gender to the mix.
@Deleted User Thats fine.
😐 gender?
BP me thought guys like us were mean assholes
ok?
@Sparky "gender/intersexual dynamics/relationships/why I am single."
So I am guilty of the same kind of a lack of insight
I never fell for the nice guy/asshole trope. I read past that always thankfully.
Indifference attracts women. I always knew that.
most of the bluepill is forming a crutch around a "identity" that dosn't really matter example: i'm a church boy so church girls will be diffrent because im different when the reality is their are no groups that don't have shitty and great people in their but you can see this in hobbys and jobs aswell like "i'm a banker, so i know i'll always be protected if xyz happens"
Yes!
when the sad reality is that you can lose the job/fath/hobby
but you have to deal with yourself
This is why Ayn Rand is fresh breathe to me.
I formed my own individuals ideas obviously but pushing individual as the building block is unique to me. I was raised collectivist over individual.
This chat is hard to keep up with lol
And within collectivist - women/children/pets/men
I do have a stupid adult question for you all...
Shoot
Identity is very much a existential crutch. Nihilism is hated because it shows a existential crisis most are unwilling to navigate.
yes?
identity in itself is a complex issue because how can you define yourself when you are not one thing you are good and bad, dumb and smart @Deleted User
My company is letting me stay at a low cost apartment but I need to find my own place within the next two weeks. I've been looking at condos, townhouses (rent and sale) and apartments. Since I'll live alone what do you all suggest? I'll probably stay in the area for 2-3 years total so buying doesn't seem right.
And self worth invested in identity is pretty arbitrary. Grasping at straws telling oneself they found firm footing. Self perpetuated logical fallacy.
I know buying is usually only a good idea for 5-7 years stay right?
what is your goal @Deleted User is it to retire as early as possible? is it to live a good stable life?
I want to retire early but also live well. I have only ever lived off $15,000 per year. Apparently that's pretty frugal but it felt nice to me.
End of the day I basicly do not care what other people do. Serves me no value. Only care if it imposes on my life.
*maximum kek*
well, if your goal is retire as early as possible you need to cut out all expenses and save as much as you can in a way that you will compound what you are putting into it if you want to enjoy yourself and not eat ramen for 5years then you move away from that and go towards comfort
It's because I am still re-programming myself but the idea of living alone in a luxury apartment/townhouse alone with no debt/wife/pets/etc seems amazing but also terrifying.
You could hump a waifu there
also, you could buy in theory a house thats okayish and fix/repair it to then flip it for a higher cost in afew years
If that's your thing
or rent and stash away
@Mr.Black Yeah, I've been looking a lot into "FIRE" and did all the calculations.
I definitely prefer equities over real estate.
