@YuriBezmenov Its all controlled by the patriots.
In any branch.
I would advise young men to avoid the military unless they want to be in the military.
"Don't go unless you wanna"
@Phosis T'Kar can't you use the military to get skills you would use in a job?
I was working 2 jobs and had money saved and was ready to move out at 19 and then my dad got sick so I decided to stay
"Go... unless you don't wanna"
See, different plans. But your parents are chill.
PB's mother is a harpy.
Military life is extremely different from civilian life and the benifits aren't worth it if you don't want to live that lifestyle
Speaking from experience?
Because I know a lot of guys that served and, really, it takes all kinds.
@Phosis T'Kar So only go if you have a plan for what you want to learn and if you can embrace the suck
You can also use it to test what you want to learn.
@Punished Korgoth yes, but those exact same skills are acquirable elsewhere too so joining the military isn't necessary
Just, make sure you compare it to the civilian world.
How about the men that are broken and don’t receive their GI bills?
What about them?
Statistically speaking, people get fucked.
@YuriBezmenov sucks to be them, but sometimes life sucks
I just think theres a much better route in which you dont get fucked that bad
some children get cancer, life sometimes is a bitch
Oh, instead, you can get ran over by a drunk driver.
You can develop your own personal brand of cancer.
You can get a pulmonary embolism out of nowhere.
Shit happens.
Besides, military's just one option among many and it's the easiest and most visible option.
Trust me, I fully understand life is suffering.
In the context of escape, PB's best bet, atm, is to plan to join up.
ultimately though joining the military for the benefits is a recipe for misery. I've had several Marines under me who hated their lives because they joined in hopes of getting benifits
3 hots, a cot, a chance to shoot drug dealers, toughen up, build a reputation for himself, probably get some real world skills, then come out a man
The Marines... that's a... that's a special beast.
@Xychotic are there other ways of becoming a man?
Really, those guys need to want to do the thing.
Eh for me it wasn't too difficult but I wanted to be a Marine
You join the army, navy, or air force "for the benefits"
You join the Marines because you want to be a Marine.
the Air force maybe but I wouldn't recommend joining any of the other branches for the benifits
navy is good for some things
army... I dunno, I understand that one's dangerous
