@YuriBezmenov sucks to be them, but sometimes life sucks

2019-06-19 23:07:41 UTC

Sometimes it happens to the soldiers.

2019-06-19 23:07:44 UTC

I just think theres a much better route in which you dont get fucked that bad

2019-06-19 23:07:57 UTC

some children get cancer, life sometimes is a bitch

2019-06-19 23:08:00 UTC

Oh, instead, you can get ran over by a drunk driver.

2019-06-19 23:08:10 UTC

You can develop your own personal brand of cancer.

2019-06-19 23:08:21 UTC

You can get a pulmonary embolism out of nowhere.

2019-06-19 23:08:26 UTC

Shit happens.

2019-06-19 23:08:51 UTC

Besides, military's just one option among many and it's the easiest and most visible option.

2019-06-19 23:08:59 UTC

Trust me, I fully understand life is suffering.

2019-06-19 23:09:18 UTC

In the context of escape, PB's best bet, atm, is to plan to join up.

2019-06-19 23:09:21 UTC

ultimately though joining the military for the benefits is a recipe for misery. I've had several Marines under me who hated their lives because they joined in hopes of getting benifits

2019-06-19 23:09:47 UTC

3 hots, a cot, a chance to shoot drug dealers, toughen up, build a reputation for himself, probably get some real world skills, then come out a man

2019-06-19 23:10:10 UTC

The Marines... that's a... that's a special beast.

2019-06-19 23:10:23 UTC

@Xychotic are there other ways of becoming a man?

2019-06-19 23:10:28 UTC

Really, those guys need to want to do the thing.

2019-06-19 23:10:54 UTC

Eh for me it wasn't too difficult but I wanted to be a Marine

2019-06-19 23:10:57 UTC

You join the army, navy, or air force "for the benefits"

2019-06-19 23:11:10 UTC

You join the Marines because you want to be a Marine.

2019-06-19 23:12:22 UTC

the Air force maybe but I wouldn't recommend joining any of the other branches for the benifits

2019-06-19 23:12:33 UTC

navy is good for some things

2019-06-19 23:12:51 UTC

army... I dunno, I understand that one's dangerous

2019-06-19 23:12:56 UTC

absolutely but ship life is kinda a bitch

2019-06-19 23:13:06 UTC

You don't always serve on a ship, iirc.

2019-06-19 23:13:34 UTC

and the Army isn't as cult like as the Marine Corps but they still have a fairly rough time of it compared to the Air Force

2019-06-19 23:14:06 UTC

true, but the majority of Sailors spend at least some of their career on ships

2019-06-19 23:14:23 UTC

i was on a ship =S i dont recommend it unless you go west coast

2019-06-19 23:19:44 UTC

You could also join the air force and then during your service they end up discovering you have Chrone's and give you a medical discharge and end up getting $4k/month for the rest of your life doing fuck-all like one of my uncles

2019-06-19 23:25:07 UTC

Least they reformed the military retirement system. Now whatever you put away during a 4 year contract, or however long you serve, you can take it with you wherever you go

2019-06-19 23:25:47 UTC

You don’t earn as much pension-wise as before, but it’s better than being left with nothing other than the VA

2019-06-19 23:39:59 UTC

I understand they basically made it into a military 401k

2019-06-19 23:43:16 UTC
