My brother was watching Arrow and every time I sat down and watched it, it was doing that emotional beat garbage.

Like, every scene had to end with someone getting a zinger and the other person being stunned, shocked, hurt, whatever.

Did they not realise that people would be bored of that shit?

The target audience doesn't know this stuff.

If you're able to critically analyze a show you're probably not the target audience

For example, how often have you seen teenagers and twenty-somethings (or, really most people), just stop and scream at a show with something like, "Just tell the truth, you fuck head. Holy shit!"
