most of our foreign aid in the past was given out freely with no supposed strings attached, yet most of the nations we ended up sending aid to ended up hating us for some odd reason

It seems as though a lot of democrats believe that we're too selfish to give out aid, and considering we "have the resources," we should give out aid because it's the nice thing to do. But then Trump talks to another political leader, the democrats get all pissy saying he's colluding or whatever. So I guess it's just another situation of flip flopping.
