me too froski lmao
> what about if a 13 year old girl gets raped and pregnant? I am committed to adopting multiple children when I have a wife and we are starting a family. but can you ban that girl from terminating that pregnancy very early on? I would say that the only reason she couldn't terminate the pregnancy VERY early on is if someone guarantees to adopt the baby. Does that make sence?
@Kaladin it should also be noted while the emotional scars of a rape are repulsive, a healthy 13 year old girl should not have any problems carrying a child to term. Historically, while 13 is still a little early, it wasn't uncommon for girls to be married by that age and start having children.
Yeah I see what you’re saying, it’s just that I was wondering if the government could ban a middle schooler from having a kid she has no part in. Especially if the pregnancy was terminated in the first 3 weeks or something. And again I’m not advocating for that, I’m just asking questions from the perspective of a lawmaker
nah man, Im the kind of person that thinks that the woman should be allowed to decide whether she wants to abort the rape pregnancy or not, but when it comes to someone thats a minor? I dont think there should be a choice there. thats just horribly disgusting and a child should not have to go through that after that traumatizing event.
Well the government requires many things I have no say in. For instance, I was required to register for the draft when I turned 18 for no other reason then because I have an X and a Y chromosome.
@Wardog maybe I am misunderstanding you but I think it would be ever more traumatic if the government forced you to have an abortion even if you wanted to keep the child or had a family member willing to raise it. That kind of thing happens in some socialized healthcare counties where the government decides you are not fit to be a mother because say you have a mental problem and they force woman who get pregnant to have an abortion against their will.
Okay, I definitely dont agree with forcing an abortion for something like having a mental problem, but idk man. a 13 year old girl having a child...? a 13-14 year old girl (at that point) raising the child? That just doesnt seem right to me man. Abortion is wrong, it is, but sometimes I think its the lesser evil. @Stargatemaster96 I can almost understand if a family member was willing to raise it, so I might be willing to backtrack on the "minors MUST abort" thing, but I will stand by my position of women having a choice on whether or not they want to abort a rape pregnancy. There are women out there who refused to give up the child, and thats fine by me, and there are women out there who might go the extent of suicide if they have to carry the product of that horrible event for nearly a year. Its a rough and messy topic to debate on. Thats for damn sure. Also on a side note ill mention how a lot of women are afraid to come forward after a rape... and that means minors may not say anything before its too late (our education on the topic is fucking shit) or wouldnt be able to get something like The Pill. One because its intimidating, and two because kids just arent able to go to the places you could get those things because theyre too far/arent allowed out, and probably wouldnt even have the money for it anyway. They dont really get the option of taking The Pill, it probably working, and then not having to go through an abortion or pregnancy. Idk man.
tough question. for a 13 years child abortion would be the less traumatizing thing to do. the damage is already done though, but adding pregnancy and labor to that at such a young age is basically prolonging the event with 9 months . the traumatizing part about rape is that you have zero control, cant protect yourself, can loose your life in any moment also. pregnancy when you are 100% dependent and your environment could not protect you before is a nightmare, you live in constant fear
As you said, the damage has already been done. The only thing we have left is the comfort of this singular girl. The life of the child is more important than a girl's comfort. She may not be able to raise the child, but there are many adoption centers that would take that child in. It's rough, and it is in no way easy, but killing the unborn child is a coward's way out. Not to mention that you are killing a pure and innocent human being for the sake of one's own comfort.
what you need to consider is who you are willing to sacrifice
its not about comfort, ptsd is not curable
the government should not make this decision, a child can't make it yet, parents should but who knows if they qualify at all
Technically, the government isn't making a decision on the child. It's just limiting a person from advancing into a certain action(which in this case is murdering the kid).
not sure what you mean. abortion is legal, so the government is not making the decision atm
I meant after if abortion become illegal by national law.
It needs to be made illegal, by making it legal they are making a decision to let it happen
but its not that simple. cause you shoulnt have the right to make a decision over other people's life like that
What are they doing for the unborn child then?
Much like suicide eh?
Where is their say?
what you doing for the unborn child? you can't go like " oh this is want I want other people to do " and then their freedom is ripped off and they are forced to do what you think they should do . and that can go wrong in a lot of ways. thats why its not that simple
It's more like telling people what not to do.
I dont think we should make decisions about minors who were raped
as outsiders
So, your reasoning is, the solution to helping a child get through PTSD is to kill another child?
Most of our abortions are just people who fucked their lover but didn't want a child.
Our child mortality is pretty low too, in case you bring this up.
@Porcupioneer no, my reasoning is you gonna ruin one life anyway. you are willing to sacrifice the life of that kid cause they got raped
Not to mention much of the damage has already been done so it's almost pointless anyway
it sends a message that if you get raped you are not gonna be treated as a person anymore cause you got no choice at all
You have choice in literally everything but killing a child
I'm just saying IN CASE you bring this up.
bring what up
Im not debating. I added my two cents
other than that I dont care if you change your mind about it or not. thankfully not my concern
The life of one person is not the choice of another. I don't care who that person is.
I said the same. the life of one person is not your choice
Exactly, the unborn are people too
so are the mothers. and you shouldn't have the right to make decisions over other people's life like that
But they are making the choice to kill the child
