I left my local furry group because of a guy who wears a pup hood in his avatar and offline. Didn't want normies seeing me around that. And they don't want my closed-minded ass back, either.

To be clear, I have a hoodie of my fursona, so it's not the "pretending to be an animal" that makes me sick. It's just. . . pup hoods look unappealing to me.

Don't become a furry. But if you do become one, become a dire wolf, because the only dire wolf furry I've ever met betrayed me, and it would be nice to associate that species with someone decent again.

Do I become what I would be attracted to, or do I become something I think others would like. Say if I was really into cats, would I be a cat?

I wanted to be a fox because I'm uncreative (foxes are a really common/cliché fursona) and I like foxes. The guy who introduced me to furrydom said I should be a badger because those are nerdy (a total lie, I later learned). So I jokingly suggested the hybrid.

It can be a combination of factors.

I'm not quite sure how hybrids work in the furry universe. In real life, mixed-race breeding of humans largely results in skin tones that are halfway between the parents'. A DNA test can show that a human has heritage in many different races. But in furrydom, a furry is rarely a hybrid of more than two or three things.

Imagine being part lion, part tiger, part fox, part wolf, part deer, part horse. . . it would be an abomination (even more than a fox/badger already is).

I would probably be an owl or a bird of prey. I just think they are badass.

And I could not imagine a hybrid of a bunch of costumes and things. That would be incredible- and horrible

As far as birds of prey go, eagles are superior to owls, IMO.

But maybe I'm biased as an American.
