well alot of the states had been raising age of consent laws but not constitutionally, but via the courts
shit used to be way higher prior to the clinton era
since 2000's...it started to drop nationally across multiple states...generally dem controlled states...some states already had constitutionally fixed ages of consent..
i just see people saying things like "fake" over the rbg memes but she wrote about it herself so i guess people just aren't paying attention?
also since 2000's they changed the reference of 'age of consent' to mean either age of sexual consent to age of marriage consent
