@notJustin43 perhaps you could put that in <#760648730431979560> ??
Like @Kaladin said it’s not really a meme
If you have any other questions, please contact a Zeducated respondent or a Moderator. 🙂
Me?
Yes, I don't think I'm talking to anyone else. 😛
Ah
Ok thanks
👍
Rofl...did my meme just get removed from meme-talk as well? It was just a joke XD
The one in meme-talk didn't even violate the rules
It was a meme, timely, relevant to the discussion...it just cracked a joke at the mod's expense...there's no reason to remove it.
Funny, but please respect the staff as they work really hard to manage this server under control. 🙂
I get that...and appreciate the hard work you all put in, and have complied with my mistakes on several occasions now as I've posted hundreds of memes throughout the summer. I understand that's work
But there's no reason to remove a meme that makes a light-joke, just because it offends your sensibilities. It was a common meme, and it was funny.
Ha, salty mods
That is the same kind of attitude we left Reddit for
Yeah
I'm not trying to undermine the hard work you do...but I (and many others) crack jokes all the time
@notJustin43 it wasn’t because we were offended it was that the mods believed it belonged in a different channel instead
That was removed.
Where?
I posted that here...in meme-talk
It’s not a meme tho
It belongs in an election talk kinda channel
Ngl I found it quite funny but it didn’t belong in the general memes
"We are a very diverse community, and we will remain respectful of each other. Moderators and Zeducated members are here to assist you and to police the channels."
I agree with the interpretation of removing the meme from General
because after you mentioned it, it wasn't a meme
...but we're in meme-talk...and cracking a joke is well within the norm
and that's what the above "ackchyually" meme does
in meme-talk nonetheless
Could someone please explain to me what a meme is, because all I am coming up with is a picture with words that are potentially sarcastic.
an element of a culture or system of behavior that may be considered to be passed from one individual to another by nongenetic means, especially imitation.
Template photos used to add meaning to a set of words or captions are a common form of meme
The one shown above is showing a geeky character combined with my text, designed as a joking diss toward the mod....and is commonly used in this type of scenario as a template for this type of situation, hence a meme - as per the definition of "meme"
Huh. That makes a bit of sense. I've tried before to find a definition, but it seems like one of those things that everyone just knows and no one bothers to explain . . . which in and of itself kind of fits your definition.
And note...the meme I had removed from General was a correct decision after looking at it in retrospect, the meme I shared above was a separate meme & joke in response to that action.
Which (initially) was also removed until I re-shared it above a few moments ago
That is my complaint, not the initial meme removed from General.
