i think voter rights should be restricted to those that pass a course in civics

if the voting age goes up too 21, then people shouldnt be considered legal adults at 18, enlistment age needs to be increased to 21, and we have to figure out what people can do after those 3 years after high school before theyre considered adults

I also think voting rights should be limited to those with skin in the game... actual taxpayers

when i was in school, they used to have military fitness standards for physed

20% of the people that go to Parris Island dont make it through boot camp. 1/5 people that thought they could. If the people that trained hard for it still dotn always make the cut, then how can we say that the 99%+ of people who dont even want to try can make it?

yeah, but the whole entire premise of Starship Troopers is to satirize that line of thinking, and to show why its goofy. I think humanity would be better off and a lot less shitty if that was reality, but its just not going ot happen.

also all the liberals would be forced to do shitty jobs because only citizens get the good jobs and good education unless their families are loaded

also only citizens get reproductive rights...which would make the liberal happy anyway...they're all for abortion

and with this required military service, i guess disabled people dont get voting rights? im not talking about just mentally handicapped people with ADD and ADHD or something like that, but what about people who are bound to a wheelchair for life? they wont get the right to vote.

ive always wnated to join the military. parents are air force vets, brother in army. i wouldnt be allowed in medically though

almost everybody in my family and extended family joined the military

its not just liberals that cant server/wouldnt make the cut... there are plenty of very conservative, hyper patriotic, red blooded Americans who cant make the cut either. and i dont think theyre bad people or shitty people because of that.

one nephew couldn't make it thru boot camp so it was the end of the family's drive for military background in the bloodline

my Grandfather on my Mother's side, and one of my Uncles on my Mother's side served. Grandfather was a Marine in WW2. Uncle was Army in Vietnam, Desert Storm, Korea.
