The law -- the same one Colorado passed -- only takes effect once enough members join the pact to reach 270 electoral votes. Correct me if I am wrong.

There was a huge push after Hillary lost to push the popular vote and get rid of the electoral college. It’s all about getting rid of the Constitution

I think it was more so proving that it can be done. The initial thing was to prove nothing was there, then he marked the sheet and rescanned it to show what was done.
Fair point. And I think he did justly in that regard. However, we haven't heard anything from the Trump campaign further indicating that this is a real thing. I think it was more postulation when the campaign manager initially proposed the rhetorical question.
