Trump won both Florida, Iowa and Ohio and that should guarantee a incumbent's re-election, btw Trump won the election on election night (And Arizona without the media prematurely calling it) and he made more popular vote gains than any president in history. Trump won LEGALLY!
The election discussions channel is meant to be a combination of where news stories can be posted and people can discuss the election. The only way to facilitate it the way you're asking it to remove this channel, but some people only want the news channels without others' added commentary.
Understand, but it is a conundrum. It is difficult not to respond to a question in the news section, which leads to other conversation. I have tried to hash tag over from news to discussion already, and it didn't work too well.
