i remember a short clip were they said that 50% of californias fires originate from an outdated electrical grid.
and they can't afford to uppgrade the grid because of costly social policys
maybe its a good time to invest into underground power lines
and in not solar and wind
seems like common sense to invest in the infrastructure, at some point the cost of the consequenses of an old electrical grid exceeds what it would cost to upgrade it in the first place.

You have to properly maintain a forest, to prevent fire, its not gonna work just leaving it
I live next to one of the UK's National parks and they are always doing controlled burns, its essential
golden rules when it comes to trees near the home - 1. never let a tree grow bigger than ur house, 2. keep the trees at least the height of ur home in distance away from ur house
reasons for both above golden rules - see storm damage on homes
majority of them didn't follow the golden rules...and got homes damaged or destroyed because of it
oh and rule 3. never plant tree over cabling, water or gas lines...them roots get into everything and fuck the shit up
