I think I suffer from a slight mental handicap that forces me to subconciously try to knock over any glass on my desk
I position my drink strategically where my hand can only bump it off the desk and not onto my keyboard and monitor
Therefor I have to utilized capped containers
Have you ever tried the mighty mug
It actually works pretty damn well
I’ve never knocked a drink some how in a very long time
And when I did it was when I only had an Xbox and no keyboard to ruin
TIL you can't start a YouTube livestream from a mobile device unless you have 1K subscribers
Luckily IP webcam is free and works like a charm for setting up a 3d printing monitoring system
Have you tried octoprint? Besides allowing control on your 3d printer, a webcam allows you to stream your print if your the only one who needs to view it.
I've been thinking about setting up octoprint
I had one set up back when octoprint was relatively new and the cam quality wasnt that great
But a quick search shows it supports USB cameras now which hopefully means higher resolution video stream since it's no longer the rpi cam
My friend uses octoprint with a Logitech C920
Using a Pi 3 or 4 is best because using a webcam along the rest of octoprint functions needs some more compute to avoid dropped frames.
Good to know, thanks gonna pick up a 4 and a buck converter
And probably a C920 actually
Really nice to see the Pi's now come with onboard wifi modules. Now my only gripe with them really is no eMMC
If you need onboard storage you could get a raspberry pi compute module 4 but then you would need a breakout board.
Damn that's really not half bad. I kind of fell off paying attention to the pi's around pi2 and I dont believe they were making a pi compute module 2 so I figured they were straying away from the compute module indefinitely
Gonna try and get that set up with octoprint
So I want to get a 3D printer I would like to get the endet 3 v2 but I do not really want to pay China any money. Any ideas for other good printers that are not to much money but are not made in China?
I have the ender 3 pro I just picked up last week; super happy with it. Unfortunately in that price range you'd be hard pressed to find a non-chinese made one that also works that well
There were a couple back American made ones back in the day, but they've been pushed out of business
I'll ask some of my former coworkers at simplify3d though see if they know any. theyre more in touch with the 3d printing industry than I am these days
Asked; they said nope creality is the top dog right now
Could build from a blueprint, and source american parts
labor will be 100% american! 😄
cost will be around 300-500 for most of them, although im sure with creative sourcing of parts you could get it lower
Just used some hard earned money to treat myself to a HomePod mini, it’s great and I recommend it
Whenever possible, I recommend going this route
Gives you a way better understanding of how it all gets put together and when stuff eventually breaks you'll have a better idea of how to fix it
That being said though, if you want to just hit the ground printing economically, the ender 3 is really hard to beat. That printer costs me ~$800 to source whereas I picked up the ender 3 for less than $250
What did you record that on
that's smooth af
60 fps?
