What color switches?

2020-12-21 20:05:47 UTC

mine is only static

2020-12-21 20:05:50 UTC

Corsair calls it “rain” only pattern I like

2020-12-21 20:06:28 UTC

How do you type with that keyboard

2020-12-21 20:07:04 UTC

With both hands 99% of the time

2020-12-21 20:07:21 UTC

Unless there's a hot pocket involved

2020-12-21 20:07:36 UTC

Lol

2020-12-21 20:08:15 UTC

I don’t eat at my computer. I’m a clean freak when it comes to my setup and electronics

2020-12-21 20:08:43 UTC

I absolutely try not to my pet peeve is a greasy keyboard/controller

2020-12-21 20:09:26 UTC

But when hot pockets are involved sometimes I black out and come to finding myself sitting in front of the computer strugglign to type

2020-12-21 20:09:26 UTC

I dust my whole desk and peripherals at least a once a week (it’s black so literally every bit is visible)

2020-12-21 20:10:36 UTC

I really should dust more often

2020-12-21 20:21:14 UTC

Yeah....I eat at my desk a lot. Granted, for undergrad my desk was all I had in my dorm so it was that or my bed. Now even in graduate school with my own apartment while I have a small coffee table I still at least once a week eat at my desk.

2020-12-21 20:22:37 UTC

I drink at my desk. I use instruction manual and warranty booklets as coasters. But no food whatsoever

2020-12-21 20:24:55 UTC

The best part about a split keyboard is you can leave drinks/manuals/booklets

2020-12-21 20:25:00 UTC

in between the keyboard

2020-12-21 20:25:02 UTC

ez access

2020-12-21 20:25:18 UTC

For water, I almost always keep a glass by my keyboard so I keep hydrated otherwise I'd probably put it off rather then get up.

2020-12-21 20:26:06 UTC

I think I suffer from a slight mental handicap that forces me to subconciously try to knock over any glass on my desk

2020-12-21 20:26:20 UTC

I position my drink strategically where my hand can only bump it off the desk and not onto my keyboard and monitor

2020-12-21 20:26:20 UTC

Therefor I have to utilized capped containers

2020-12-21 20:26:35 UTC

Have you ever tried the mighty mug

2020-12-21 20:26:42 UTC

It actually works pretty damn well

2020-12-21 20:27:08 UTC

I’ve never knocked a drink some how in a very long time

2020-12-21 20:27:25 UTC

And when I did it was when I only had an Xbox and no keyboard to ruin

2020-12-21 20:30:47 UTC

TIL you can't start a YouTube livestream from a mobile device unless you have 1K subscribers

2020-12-21 20:31:38 UTC

Luckily IP webcam is free and works like a charm for setting up a 3d printing monitoring system

Have you tried octoprint? Besides allowing control on your 3d printer, a webcam allows you to stream your print if your the only one who needs to view it.

2020-12-21 20:48:11 UTC

I've been thinking about setting up octoprint

2020-12-21 20:48:48 UTC

I had one set up back when octoprint was relatively new and the cam quality wasnt that great

2020-12-21 20:49:39 UTC

But a quick search shows it supports USB cameras now which hopefully means higher resolution video stream since it's no longer the rpi cam

2020-12-21 20:53:01 UTC

My friend uses octoprint with a Logitech C920

2020-12-21 20:54:15 UTC

Using a Pi 3 or 4 is best because using a webcam along the rest of octoprint functions needs some more compute to avoid dropped frames.

2020-12-21 20:54:46 UTC

Good to know, thanks gonna pick up a 4 and a buck converter

2020-12-21 20:54:58 UTC

And probably a C920 actually

2020-12-21 20:56:08 UTC

Really nice to see the Pi's now come with onboard wifi modules. Now my only gripe with them really is no eMMC

2020-12-21 21:03:07 UTC

If you need onboard storage you could get a raspberry pi compute module 4 but then you would need a breakout board.

2020-12-21 21:03:58 UTC

The compute module would also let you run PCIe devices like an Nvme drive if you prefer that.

2020-12-21 21:07:58 UTC

Damn that's really not half bad. I kind of fell off paying attention to the pi's around pi2 and I dont believe they were making a pi compute module 2 so I figured they were straying away from the compute module indefinitely

2020-12-21 21:08:38 UTC

Gonna try and get that set up with octoprint
