What do you plan on doing with the pi4?
So I am trying to fix a HDMI port. I have checked the connections and all of the solder is good. Any suggestions?
What kind of device?
Using a known-good cable?
Dell latitude 3380 is the laptop
I will look at the cable
If the cable is known to be good and the display device is known to be good (with proper input selection on the display device) I would first see if devmgmt.msc in windows detects the proper display adapter and that the drivers are up to date
The cable is a wirelogic sapphire 4K and HDR cable
If you were able to check the solder connections, did you take a look at the hdmi encoder chip and make sure nothing looked wrong there like solder connections/cracked chip
And I can get video and audio Through the cable and the connection sometimes is stable but often it will blink in an out
if you have another cable handy it would be a good quick test to rule out the cable
Where can I find the HDMI encoder chip?
It will be on the motherboard most likely close to the HDMI port
If you have the board out and easily testable you could check it otherwise I wuld try to do the other quick tests first
