Generally I agree that their schedule is easier but heres the problem
Louisiana Lafayette beat Iowa State by 17 points in Week 1
They lost 1 game to an unbeaten team all season
Iowa State was ranked ahead of them basically the whole year
Even if they were to go undefeated and play good teams in non conference, it doesn't matter because the committee just doesn't care, they just go by what they think are the "bEsT tEAMz"
That’s how it always is unfortunately.
I wonder if there’s an alternate universe where the Mountain West conference or something like that is the shit and the SEC is just the untouchable that produces a draft pick every now and again
Speaking of the Mountain West, Boise State wants in on the AAC
Boise should be in the pac 12
Facts, that would strengthen that conference a bit
Well no I can’t say that really, the Pac 12 isnt terrible they just were restrictive bc of covid, so limited schedule etc
The Pac 12 is just like painfully average
They have no like superstar teams which means they all beat each other
Does the power 5 even exist
Or should we just exile the pac 12 until they become better and just have the power 4
promotion and relegation so the playoffs are fair
^^^^
Or maybe even expand the playoffs. Four teams is really narrow. Ranks 5-10 is where things get heated and they should be included too to spice things up, have more variety, stuff like that. With, say, a 12 team format like the NFL adopted this season then top two teams get a bye week then 10 other teams battle it out, maybe 3 seed plays 12 seed so on and so forth. That way there would be more action from other conferences and more variety year by year
I'd be good with 8
Hell, even 6 with power 5 champions and the best group of 5 team would be decent
Idk
Agreed. Them and maybe SDSU are bigger than the rest of the MW.
Fresno is pretty good too
sad Boise fan noises
Has Fresno been ranked since they had Adams and Carr?
Ye
They were #18 in 2018
Went 12-2 and won the MW
Ah
As a Boise fan that was a very sad championship
I'm a San Jose State alum
Congrats on the MW title
Thanks. Still can't believe we weren't embarrassingly bad this year.
They kind of just came out of nowhere
I heard that moving to a smaller conference really helped Starkel
And that his experience in the SEC helped him in the bigger games in the MW
I've been waiting for Boise to have that like, next step season
Seems like they usually are good for MW title appearance sometimes win, but they always blow a game or two to sour the season a bit
Normally I expect the win over the FCS school and maybe one or two conference wins
