he let me read this really cool survival book from sometime around the 70s
nice whats the name of it? my buddy got me a copy of the S.A.S. survival handbook last year ive been trying to read through that and remember somthing haha
I can't remember- ill have to ask him. It was basically about how to survive in suburban and urban enviroments
Im actually more in the bug-in catagory, already living in a remote village
I like the Idea of both and that's what I have
One to get home that is in my car and one in my closest

@TrapaholicJones Hearing protection, water filter, maybe a local map and maybe another mag would be my recommendation... what's your weight at? 30 lbs-ish, looks like.
Having a folder for city stuff is nice too. I'd probably only have one large fixed for weight.
@TrapaholicJones why do you have a loaded ar mag when you didn't list an AR?
Its implied
@Luke14 cause smart people don't list their ARs online.
I'm from New Zealand and want to know what kind of weapon i can use instead of an AR because we are not allowed them. Any suggestions?
I wish I'd decided to prep before everything got this crazy.
I could possibly convince my brother to organize stuff but I don't know if he'd believe me (he's a Trump supporter, but I don't get along with him well).
@Luke14 I don't know what's legal where you are, or the specifics of the laws you have to deal with. However, in short, anything that is legal and you are comfortable using is better than nothing. Anything illegal and or you are NOT comfortable using is worse than nothing.
@Equalibrium good idea on hearing protection and i have a local map in my other bag in car just forgot about it in there, also have big 50 state map in car, i might shed that second fixed since i added the morakniv after it good idea cause im pushin closer to 40 lbs. and i actually made a bug out ammo box seperate so thats why only 1 in b.o.b. to save weight
up close knives can be deadlier than guns luke
What TrapaholicJones says is true, but:
Knife fighting is not a joke, and I do not recommend it to anyone who doesn't have the training required to do it safely.
Firearms are simple point and click adventures. Knives are high-speed chess, with less forgiving results.
Any tips on that and my current dilemma?
@SPRTNWRRYR1974 5 years plus of actuall hand to hand combat training for knive use in self-defense + knowledge of applicable laws.
Food stuffs, buy you a dehydrator and canner on amazon or elsewhere online.
Websearch on how to do it, and start preserving.
Where can I get said training?
will drop some links for food stuffs in a moment
You think I can pull it all before Tuesday? Also, if you suggest weapons, I am in a college dorm, so those are somewhat hard to access and conceal.
I don't know where you might find some, mine is from military personel (I was not a service member but I did recieve training), and personal contacts etc. It's know you know locally for that. Look up veteran owned gyms and studios and ask around there.
Food prep takes time, about a week. You may be SOL for that being ready by Tuesday, but the knowledge and equipment could be invaluable.
I have food in one dresser drawer and some in a mini-fridge.
What is SOL?
Sh*t Out of Luck
Ok
The stuff in the fridge is what you want to preserve
You might be able to do the mini-fridge and have things saved if power goes out for an extended period.
buddy if ur plan is to prep for tuesday youre way behind
Agreed.
