Itโ€™s set 5 years after Return of the Jedi

2020-08-09 20:51:27 UTC

Same time as Heir to the Empire, an old Star Wars novel

2020-08-09 20:51:37 UTC

Ah yes before Rey exists... I like it already

2020-08-09 20:51:37 UTC

Not gonna spoiler anything more, but....awesome!

2020-08-09 20:52:01 UTC

Well I know which show to watch next

2020-08-09 20:52:08 UTC

It goes back more to what the Mandalorians were supposed to be, even before the Prequels.

2020-08-09 20:52:18 UTC

Yeah I call Disneyโ€™s movies โ€œthe Disney trilogyโ€ I try separate it as much as I can from what I love lol

2020-08-09 20:52:51 UTC

Pre-internet, George and other Lucasfilm folks stated that the Clone Wars were against the Mandalorians.

2020-08-09 20:53:07 UTC

In interviews, and SW fan club stuff.

2020-08-09 20:53:56 UTC

In an interview from 1980 George said that he originally wanted to release his episode VII in 2011

2020-08-09 20:54:05 UTC

*nods*

2020-08-09 20:54:11 UTC

Well Mark Hamill said that George said it

2020-08-09 20:54:25 UTC

My brother said the IG-88 looking robot is hilarious

2020-08-09 20:55:00 UTC

I still need to see it but I don't want Disney to have my money

2020-08-09 20:55:07 UTC

Boba Fett in the OT was a serious letdown. He just *looked* cool, but sucked.

2020-08-09 20:55:20 UTC

*cough* sharethefiles *cough*

2020-08-09 20:55:27 UTC

Yโ€™know there was a scene in the script for the Empire Strikes Back that got cut, but Boba Fett And IG-88 weโ€™re supposed to show up at Cloud City and the same time and have a big fight on the landing platform

2020-08-09 20:56:23 UTC

And thatโ€™s why if you look closely, the scene when Chewbacca rescues C-3PO from that garbage incineration room, thereโ€™s a dead IG-88 slumped over in the background

2020-08-09 20:56:26 UTC

That would've been cool. But Boba, and Jango daddy, were just...there.

2020-08-09 20:56:55 UTC

I've heard that was another IG series in the trash.

2020-08-09 20:57:06 UTC

Dang, that would have been neat

2020-08-09 20:57:15 UTC

Yeah the one in the trash is actually unpainted

2020-08-09 20:57:16 UTC

In the EU it actually says it.

2020-08-09 20:57:51 UTC

LOL Want a *real* deep cut? Slow down the cantina scene. Wuher is using IG-88 heads as taps.

2020-08-09 20:58:13 UTC

Yes

2020-08-09 20:58:32 UTC

The head is a reused tap

2020-08-09 20:59:08 UTC

In the EU there was a story where that fight actually did take place, and IG-88 managed to upload his conciseness to another droid, and he kept moving and moving around uploading himself to different droids and computers until he finally uploaded himself to the Death Star 2

2020-08-09 20:59:46 UTC

IG-88 becomes the Death Star 2, like two seconds later the Rebels blow it up ๐Ÿ˜†

2020-08-09 20:59:53 UTC

The backstory was the IG-88 series activated, killed their creators, and went in different directions.

2020-08-09 21:00:03 UTC

When the droid in Rogue 1 hacked the other droid I was 100% sure he was installing his own os onto it so they had a... copy of him

2020-08-09 21:00:10 UTC

I thiiiink there were eight of them.

2020-08-09 21:00:14 UTC

Yes, they are also known as โ€œassassin droidsโ€

2020-08-09 21:00:34 UTC

The IGs

2020-08-09 21:00:57 UTC

Well, yes, but the IG series' before were also bodyguards, soldiers, etc.

2020-08-09 21:01:10 UTC

The IG Lancers were bad to the bone.

2020-08-09 21:01:32 UTC

Are those the guys we see in the 2003 Clone Wars cartoon?

2020-08-09 21:01:38 UTC

Which I love by the way

2020-08-09 21:02:09 UTC

Yep!

2020-08-09 21:02:18 UTC

I vaguely remember something about a heavily modified federation droid with blade arms

2020-08-09 21:02:33 UTC

Sounds like Mister Bones.

2020-08-09 21:02:37 UTC

Yeah
