I brought my mother for her birthday.
Awwwww
Thats sweet
Books are always better than the movies because you can cram as much as you like in a book, but you have to cut a movie down to almost nothing.
LOTR was a decent effort
Unless it's a sequel, you have to set up your premise, hook people's interest, tell your story, and give a satisfactory conclusion in two hours or less.
In a book, you can take a hundred pages to describe cheese.
I enjoyed the LOTR movies, but they still had to axe and change things to fit.
LOTR was written by a Christian, so every neckbearded fedora-wearer is required by law to hate it.
LOL The Hobbit was one of the first books I ever read as a kid.
The Hobbit one was poor though
Good but nothing on LOTR
Sorry, though you meant the book.
Nah the book itself stands great on its own
I don't think anyone will ever top Tolkien.
What made it so successful
was that he created entire cultures
and even languages, that is a mark of a great writer
Yep. He practically lived in Middle-earth.
Yea it is not fictional
LOL That too. But I meant in his mind. I'm fairly certain that you could have walked up to him with a question about Gandalf and he'd just have the answer.
Oooh! Books are here too?!? Add beer and this would be jerps new home 😂
Books need a separate channel
I suggested it, and they folded them together. Better all than none.
Its entertainment based. I agree with the addition
Educational books?
I can share some good law school books!
Boo!
I scored the complete hardcover Popular Mechanics DIY encyclopedia Saturday.
A British law publisher if you know them
I'm American. So no.
That is how Lincoln began his jounrey
started off by buying some law books from a sale in a attic
My prize possession, reference-wise, is a WWII manual on battlefield facial reconstructive surgery.
You guys got an interesting library
Any of you fans of the Heritage Press?
Beautifully made books
I moved a lot as a kid. My books were usually the first casualty each time.
Okay, funny timing...
