alex rider was some good stuff

2020-09-17 20:47:28 UTC

yeah a friend of mine used to read those books a lot I think.

2020-09-17 20:48:05 UTC

I always loved everything Rick Riordan wrote

2020-09-17 20:48:12 UTC

i read tons of his books

2020-09-17 20:48:24 UTC

they got me through some tough times

2020-09-17 20:48:30 UTC

I could just escape into that reality.

2020-09-18 03:06:03 UTC

Have any of you guys watched Meta Runner?

2020-09-18 03:13:43 UTC

Haven't heard of it.

2020-09-18 03:14:28 UTC

@jimmy isn’t it that animated series made by SMG4?

2020-09-18 05:23:40 UTC

Dang Frankie Muniz doesn't remember playing Malcom.

2020-09-18 09:22:59 UTC

@ThiccSpicyGenderRevealParty Nah. Rick Riordan was a bunch of fantasy books, mainly based around Greek and Roman gods. They were pretty good

2020-09-18 09:24:03 UTC

I’d recommend anyone read the percy jackson novels sometime in their life. They are for teenagers, but I think they were great.

2020-09-18 13:08:14 UTC

agreed, the Percy Jackson books are great

2020-09-18 13:08:31 UTC

I also really enjoy his Magnus Chase series that's about norse mythology

2020-09-18 13:09:25 UTC

I felt super proud because every time they taught a new fact about Greek Mythology I was like “i already knew that” and gave 14 year old me a sense of superiority

2020-09-18 13:09:37 UTC

ain't that the truth

2020-09-18 13:09:52 UTC

Those books were great, good humor and actually good character development

2020-09-18 13:10:14 UTC

Heck the Kane Chronicles were almost better

2020-09-18 13:11:13 UTC

I never got around to reading those but always wanted to

2020-09-18 13:11:23 UTC

ah, to be a teenager again

2020-09-18 13:11:32 UTC

now I enjoy stinky grown up books

2020-09-18 13:11:55 UTC

I read the first Magnus Chase book and know a lot of early American history and so when Hel was teaching Magnus about Bunker Hill and he didn’t know anything about it I was like “what the flip, Magnus! You’ve lived in flippin’ Boston your entire life, didn’t you ever go to historic sites and read the signs?”

2020-09-18 13:11:58 UTC

They were different enough from the percy Jackson books, but i think they had better humor and a different way to tell the story, while still being in the same universe

2020-09-18 13:12:22 UTC

Of course not, he was living on the streets

2020-09-18 13:12:28 UTC

not his whole life tho

2020-09-18 13:12:36 UTC

For enough of it

2020-09-18 13:12:37 UTC

only for a like a year or something

2020-09-18 13:12:46 UTC

maybe a little more

2020-09-18 13:12:57 UTC

I need to dig up those books from my mom's place and reread them

2020-09-18 13:13:03 UTC

Oh, its been a bit since ive read it, and unlike the other series, only read magnus chase once

2020-09-18 13:13:06 UTC

and buy the rest of the series now that it's probably out

2020-09-18 13:13:24 UTC

I could have sworn I remembered him living in Boston before he was homeless

2020-09-18 13:13:25 UTC

I will say, there is kinda a corny ending

2020-09-18 13:13:54 UTC

Also, thoughts on Trials of Apollo

2020-09-18 13:13:55 UTC

It’s also been a few years and I never finished the series

2020-09-18 13:16:05 UTC

Trials of Apollo??? SO fucking good

2020-09-18 13:16:07 UTC

I love Apollo

2020-09-18 13:16:18 UTC

I only read the first book because that's all that was out at the time

2020-09-18 13:16:20 UTC

damn

2020-09-18 13:16:32 UTC

I really do gotta brush up on my Rick Riordan stuff

2020-09-18 13:16:45 UTC

but sadly my money is spoken for atm since I'm slowly buying and reading all of MHA
