Military chopper flying over my stand. You can't hear the heli that well in the video but it's really loud

2020-11-07 22:11:09 UTC

I hunt next to fort polk so they fly over all the time. For example as I'm typing this there is a cargo plane vibrating my stand.

2020-11-07 22:13:21 UTC

I can hear it.

2020-11-07 22:13:34 UTC

Blackhawk family helicopter.

2020-11-08 01:04:31 UTC

Yeah you can see the heli at around the 12 second mark

A common misconception about Vietnam War US Army Fatigues is that they are olive drab and have normal cloth, no, they aren't and don't, they are tropical green and are cotton ripstop. OD fatigues with regular cloth is the ones from the Korean War, WW2 ones weren't even green, they were a weird mustard color

2020-11-08 02:53:43 UTC

Agreed

2020-11-08 02:54:39 UTC

Another misconception is that in the Vietnam war, veterans were the highest casualties, in reality it was Mac Namaras' morons

2020-11-08 02:55:22 UTC

even then, we only lost around 50,000, compared to the hundreds of thousands of looses we inflicted on the NV and Vietcong forces

2020-11-08 02:56:38 UTC

Say what you want, but Mac Namara was the most idiotic Secretary of Defense we ever had

2020-11-08 02:57:08 UTC

Great strategic mind, Terrible efficiency and material workarounds

2020-11-08 02:57:29 UTC

i know, its just that despite those poor bastards making up most of the casualties, we still lost way less then they did

2020-11-08 02:57:50 UTC

I know, but I'm talking about his as a whole

2020-11-08 02:57:56 UTC

fair enough

2020-11-08 02:59:33 UTC

F-111: Garbage fire that killed its pilots and couldn't hit anything
T114: Slower and less armored APC that catches on fire easily
USS JFK: Aluminum Garbage that catches on fire if a ship grazes its hull

2020-11-08 03:00:27 UTC

jesus fucking christ

2020-11-08 03:00:40 UTC

M551 Sheridan: Great tank, horrible ammo and turret problems

2020-11-08 03:01:08 UTC

for the T114 you might as well just use Guntrucks at that point

2020-11-08 03:01:55 UTC

There was something better than the T114 the M113, it was 30MPH faster and carried more people (by 5)

2020-11-08 03:02:05 UTC

and what happened to all those Pershings we had, or even better, the stupid M60s

2020-11-08 03:02:09 UTC

and get this, it used diesel

2020-11-08 03:02:14 UTC

Hah

2020-11-08 03:03:42 UTC

Pershings and M60s are great tanks, but their weight made them not suitable for jungle combat, which is why M551 Sheridans were better, but their turret problems and ammo case ruptures were a huge issue

2020-11-08 03:05:19 UTC

Something like T92's, HSTVs, M551 and possibly M41's were far superior in jungle combat

The only F-16 that wasn't a companion to F-15E

2020-11-08 03:34:02 UTC

Darn shame too, but lucky, Trump sold it to Thailand under the F-21 designation

2020-11-08 03:34:18 UTC

Avro Vulcan, the plane that made the Falklands landing easier only to get retired that same day

2020-11-08 04:01:11 UTC

thats one hell of a retirement day

2020-11-08 04:02:36 UTC

Initially it was going to be 4 Vulcans but the lead plane had compression issues and the 3rd plane was flying with half a gallon due to the refueling planes being epty after fueling the 1st 2

2020-11-08 04:03:52 UTC

they barely made it back with only liters left in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, they were saved by 5 Lone star refuel planes all the way back to the UK
