ooh nice. I have always just used a whetstone, but that looks a lot better!
Only 4 bucks
I feel like whetstones are more effective
Am I wrong in my thinking?
Whetstones are good, but the hook sharpener on this thing is made of diamond, so....
my issue with whetstones is that they are typically too course. although you *can* buy diamond whetstones, they are often pretty expensive from what I have seen.
so four bucks sounds like a steal for that thing!
Hey guys I need some help, Should I buy a 270 WIN, or 30/06
Ask that in <#720484562400051201>
What the heck is that
It’s hunting realated
It really do be a gun tho
<#720484562400051201> will probably a better help
Its a squirrel
I think
My dad found it
guys in guns can probably help u better, but Id say it depends what you want to hunt. If just deer and medium sized game, both are probably fine. I'd take the 30/06 for anything bigger than a small bear though.
ofc, i'v only ever shot paper,
@Lil I hunt whitetail with a .30-06
I use a 30-30 bolt action
I have a Henry 30-30 that my dad got me for my birthday a few years ago. I use it sometimes but I find the .30-06 shoots flatter.
Henry’s are the best
This tiny whitetail yearling I got tonight can't really see it in the pictures but antlers haven't even poked through the hide
Why did you kill it then
Some people are wayyyy to trigger happy
Well when you pay 1500 dollars a year for a deer lease we make sure to kill something.
Thought it was a doe didn't realize it was that young
Well I guess for my parents it's worth it just for the moonshine lol. There's 4 guys on the lease that make homemade moonshine so theres always plenty.
@Lil 270 is a bad joke, too much powder for such a tiny projectile, they'll run for days before dying unless you hit them *just* right. 30-06 is nice but gets a little bit inaccurate over 250 yards, .308 is probably the most balanced for mid-longe range rifles, it does well up to around 350-400 yards but also has good knockdown even at close range. if you're looking for really long range(300+ yards) and accurate with good knock down, 300 mag does well. If you're looking at those 500++ yard shots i can't help ya, I've never really looked into that
The moonshine is kinda goofy my family goes hunting one out of enjoyment and two because we are going to eat em
@Happy_Kakapo it happens. I've been there myself. The first doe I got this year could have been a button for all I knew, I was just way too excited for my first bow kill. It looked bigger in the scope than when I walked up to it
The key is to learn from those mistakes.
@Lil I forgot to mention the 30-30, it's a good close range/bush gun, but loses accuracy quickly as you get over 100 yards. Even 150 yards is a tough shot with 30-30.
I am looking for Rocky mountain elk and blacktail
so its bweetween 30/06 and 270 WIN for me
I'd say 300 mag or 30-06.
Depending on your range
.308 is great for 300+ yards but i don't know about the knockdown it would have on elk
