Winchester skinning knife I got for 30 dollars

2020-12-13 15:43:06 UTC

@Aperfectghost I always wanted a zero tolerance but they are really expensive

The ZT 0460 is what I've got, it's a good working folder for alot, blades are made out an steel that keeps it edge for a good long time. For the cautionary tale for buying any expensive knife there's always somebody out there making a the same blade far cheaper, for example I saw the same knife sold at a knife and gun show in my area that was only $70 did everything my $200 ZT did...cut the same, blade finishing and fit/finish is the same... moral of the story is just because of knife is expensive doesn't mean it has similar abilities.

cant say I have ever put a knife through that much use, but yes, okc makes great stuff.

kabars are wicked too. I gotta a couple antique ones that are absolutely great for bushcraft.

Buck I've had for 8 years now, unzip and delimb anywhere from 3 to 10 deer per year with it, only use it for hunting related issues

2020-12-13 20:43:49 UTC

2020-12-13 22:27:35 UTC

The O.G Bowie pattern works well at everything I've thrown at, that basically what a kabar is afterall

I use a Smith and Wesson Tactical M9 Bayonet knife for skinning.

2020-12-14 09:36:56 UTC

Smith and Wesson?

2020-12-14 09:37:06 UTC

My experience with their knives has not been good really

2020-12-14 09:37:26 UTC

I can't seem to get one of the knives I have to sharpen

2020-12-14 09:38:01 UTC

They've got solid guns though

2020-12-14 12:16:25 UTC

Yeah their knives are shit compared to something like buck but ive got my sw11 and I use it daily

2020-12-14 12:17:17 UTC

Theyre great cheap knives but they keep breaking the edge off when you sharpen them

2020-12-14 12:18:12 UTC

And if you have the money go for an esse or even benchmade

2020-12-14 12:18:21 UTC

2020-12-14 15:10:36 UTC

did you mean to order a knife and got a sheath instead? lol im a bit confused xD

2020-12-14 16:09:07 UTC

No I got 2 quality knives and 2 absoloutely shitty sheaths now I gotta spend more money to get leather sheaths custom made

2020-12-14 16:11:50 UTC

eh, that sucks, but I never would have expected a decent sheath from shrade.

2020-12-14 16:12:31 UTC

if you want to make your own sheaths, I think you can buy leather for a decent price by purchasing an entire hide at the farmers market.

2020-12-14 16:12:42 UTC

or at stands along the highway

2020-12-14 16:15:52 UTC

I have a friend who owns cows

2020-12-14 16:16:03 UTC

But im not wanting to do Leatherwood

2020-12-14 16:16:09 UTC

*leather work

2020-12-14 16:16:27 UTC

If much rather go to a leather person and have them make me 2 custom sheaths
