The French's upgraded Renaults were frankly the same, but their issue was they were heavily cramped which made response times to enemy units slower
Panzer 2's on the otherhand, while they had less armor, had better operationality due to the more space inside the chasse and turret which allowed for more rapid response to the enemy
And with an automatic 20mm cannon, they could make short work of opposing light and medium armor
we're talking Panzer 1's first off and second, whoever made their guns don't matter they're polish, the fought the nazi's in Warsaw with fucking sticks, the held the Nazi's at Danzig for weeks and only surrendered because they ran out of bullets, they held the wermacht at Wizna for 5 days, while outnumbered 40:1, for comparision, the hot gates was 14:1.
Panzer 2's operated at the same time as Panzer 1's, and frankly were fairly similar
@SpaceDandyJoestarGG theyre the Yugoslav partisans
who absolutely wrecked the Nazis in yugoslavia
they are one of WW2's unsung heroes because they helped take pressure of the USSR and Western Front
France had better tanks, but their doctrine sucked
@A Person huh never heard of them but hey that's cool.
what was the best German tank destroyer
Per tonnage of armor and strength of their guns, yes the French AMD's and Renault's were better armed and arguably their tanks were better, however the majority of them had 1 major flaw that made them easy prey to Panzers, cramped turrets that had manual turning instead of hydrolic till they got their hands on the Sherman
also did the Germans and Japanese ever fight together?
No
But they did share a few things with each other
Tho it was mostly german arms going to Japan. like a Tiger tank
ok
As for best german TD, it would have to be the StuG
ok
Also why did tank destroyers not have turning turrets? Was it so that they could mount powerful cannons?
Some American and British tank destroyers had full on turrets
ok
Like the Wolverine
ok thanks

@Zilla The French Somua tanks had a riveted hull that if struck directly on the rivet line, the whole tank could come apart
And if it didnt, the rivets would kill the crew of the vehicle
what a riviting conversation
Rivetted armor made for easy repairing of a tank and made it quicker to build, tho the negatives heavily outweighed the positives
Thats for if you have absolutely no consideration of the Crew but you want a lot of tanks quickly
Which during the beginning when both the British and the French quickly needed armor, stuff like the M3 Lee was a good substitute
M3 was a meh in my opinion
Overall it was a bad tank, but in operation as a supplimental tank and a stopgap design it was one of the best
I feel that one of the most Iconic tanks of All Time is the Tiger 1
Definitely
You pretty much cant have a WW2 game or movie without one
Its seen two Fronts of the same war, wielded by one of the most infamous powers on earth, with a reputation to boot
Too bad the Germans werent being smart with them near the end of the war
Are we trash talking germans?
Hitler wasted time and materials on building a tank, the most feasible of which still took up the metal the likes of which could be used to build 3 tiger tanks and one Panzer IV
yes i did the math
