@Zilla The French Somua tanks had a riveted hull that if struck directly on the rivet line, the whole tank could come apart

And if it didnt, the rivets would kill the crew of the vehicle

Rivetted armor made for easy repairing of a tank and made it quicker to build, tho the negatives heavily outweighed the positives

Thats for if you have absolutely no consideration of the Crew but you want a lot of tanks quickly

Which during the beginning when both the British and the French quickly needed armor, stuff like the M3 Lee was a good substitute

M3 was a meh in my opinion

Overall it was a bad tank, but in operation as a supplimental tank and a stopgap design it was one of the best

Hitler wasted time and materials on building a tank, the most feasible of which still took up the metal the likes of which could be used to build 3 tiger tanks and one Panzer IV

The King Tiger and the Maus were ambitious goals, but vastly too expensive

The King tiger was more feasible in my opinion as its main issue was the transmission, but then again, its german

The Maus on the other hand, was way to ambitious for that stage of the war

Yeah, really smart idea on paper becsuse rhey were facing oil shortages, but failed horrendously in practice because the tech just wasnt there yet

If it got stuck in even the smallest puddles of mud, that was practicslly a death sentence to it

And inclines were also a death sentence to it
