Technically the draganov isn't an ak. Its a marksman rifle designed to be out of an range and just be good enough for large numbers of snipers to units.
For my first gun, does anyone recommend Glock G19 Gen5?
What’s the purpose of the gun? Range toy? Concealed carry?
^
I carry a G23 for my cc. But i Carry a g21 for work. I love glocks though, best guns ive ever ownes
I love my ak
@Miater I would have it for personal protection at home and I would definetly use it on the range sometimes.
Glock 19 is a great option. I swap between my Glock 19 and my p365.
Ok, thanks that sounds perfect. I am also thinking about a taser, but I'll see.
Personally I like my p365 more.
Any thoughts about buying a taser? I know that cartridges are like 70 bucks.
Personally if I feel threatened enough to pull a weapon, in my opinion, they have forfeited their life. There are very few if any places I can think of where you can carry a taser but not a gun so carrying it when you can't carry a pistol doesn't seem to help.
Id skip.
Tasers are not always effective in a situation. If even 1 probe misses you are pretty much fucked. If they dont make good contact you pretty much just insta-pissed off whoever you were shooting it at
plus ive seen situations where some folks are just not affected by them even with a good connect
They are also one shot unlike a pistol that even in the small side will give you at least 5 shots.
I agree with david. if you're in a situation that you feel you need a weapon for self defense, go big (firearm) or go home. In life and death situations where is no such thing as "being nice".
the goal is to end the threat. period
It's better to be judged by twelve than to be carried by six
Indeed, then I am just getting a Glock.
no worries man. Another thing with tasers, there is a small percentage of the population that it can cause cardiac issues with. Its designed to be less than lethal, but it doesnt always work that way. just thinking in a litigation kind of way
Plus if you ever had to use it against someone, you'd likely be sued. Theyd question your training, etc. tasers are a big mess of "Nope"
Active self-protection doesn't hesitate to say that tasers are only effective about 50% of the time
And that they are less than lethal
In a life-and-death situation you really should just trust a gun
^ 100% this
Ok, thanks. As you said, if I would ever feel endangered, I would use lethal weapon.
I use one in my work, but i almost wish i didnt lol
Yeah that's true.
The ideas that you are one step above the threat they are presenting
If they are unarmed then you use a Taser
But if they have lethal force on them like a knife, a stabbing implement, or even something like pepper spray
Then you go to the next level above that which is lethal
So typically a gun
Because if you have a Star Trek phaser then you get to skip that phase and still keep to stun
But since we don't live in the world of Make-Believe land
I would highly suggest learning how to effectively Mozambique drill
