Yup. Army medic, graduated school of infantry in Ft Benning 2006. Enlisted after high school.

2020-06-24 22:59:38 UTC

Ah...Excellent. Wasn't infantry, but did basic at Benning in 2003. That place sucks in the summer.

2020-06-24 23:00:28 UTC

Wasn't Tyler also army medic?

Ft. Sam Houston is a party base. Lots of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. My son was conceived there.

2020-06-24 23:03:37 UTC

@Ironman The humidity and heat combined was bad enough, but I ended up with bronchitis on top of it.

@Ironman Not to mention the pissants of good 'ol Sand Hill...

2020-06-24 23:04:19 UTC

@Deleted User I made it through with a broken wrist and feet that looked like spider webs due to stress fractures.

2020-06-24 23:05:29 UTC

Leave Canada

2020-06-24 23:05:29 UTC

@Ironman You, too, huh? I ended up with stress fractures in four places: right foot, both shins, left femur. Limped on graduation day, but I did everything I could to not be a holdover.

2020-06-24 23:05:59 UTC

@Deleted User same here. Once you become a holdover, your military career is pretty much finished.

2020-06-24 23:06:43 UTC

My first day I did pushups in someone else's vomit. People were slipping and falling all over the place. It was awesome

2020-06-24 23:06:52 UTC

I got pneumon and an infection in the heart while at service

2020-06-24 23:08:06 UTC

The pneumonia caused the infection after I got back into action.

2020-06-24 23:08:23 UTC

@Ironman Everyone thought it was shin splints at first. Found out it was stress fractures after I went on to AIT. I almost cried like a little girl with a skinned knee after that last APFT. Yeah, I remember the pushups in vomit. We'd have to drink the 2 QT canteen, then immediately get smoked.

2020-06-24 23:09:23 UTC

They made us drink a full 2qt canteen at the adjunct general, then one in the CTA, then one in our barracks.

2020-06-24 23:09:33 UTC

That sounds pretty rough, @Krampus Sniper Colt

2020-06-24 23:09:39 UTC

Then we side straddle hopped until the floor was sticky

2020-06-24 23:09:44 UTC

LOL

2020-06-24 23:10:00 UTC

@Deleted User Well it wasn't any fun either.

2020-06-24 23:10:24 UTC

I'd bet not. Didn't put you out for long, did it?

2020-06-24 23:11:01 UTC

Well it did screw my service but I finished it

2020-06-24 23:12:07 UTC

@Ironman I still remember first shower drill around the killzone. Nothing like hearing "Half right, FACE!" while you're in a room with 59 other guys all wearing only towels. Every shred of dignity left after that point. I think that was the point I realized I hated the supine bicycle.

2020-06-24 23:12:51 UTC

If I was to join the US military, I'd probably be just fine.

2020-06-24 23:14:55 UTC

Half right, face. Front leaning rest position, move. In cadence. Exercise. 1, 2, 3. My buddy fucked me. Wanna go home. Not motivated. Wah, wah, wah.

2020-06-24 23:15:46 UTC

Heh heh. I remember those boys from my time as well

2020-06-24 23:16:04 UTC

Still use the term "Blue Falcon" to this day.

2020-06-24 23:16:17 UTC

I do too.
