.300 does better out of shorter barrels. Love my 5.56. Gonna end up doing a 12.5" build when I can find barrels again...

Plus I started building that thing when it looked like the Hearing Protection Act that would have de-criminalized silencers was going to pass. Plan A was a 4-6" barrel and suppressor that would fit under the hand guard.

Anyone know where you can find Federal Premium HST 9mm (preferably LE so you can get the 50 round box)? I have a box I use for my self defense pistol but my father has been looking for some hollow points with all this civil unrest.

I normally order from Target Sports USA but they are out of most 9mm.

The gun range I went by today didn't have any hollow points and we're in fact only had one box left of any 45 acp and had only training ammo for 9mm.

The manufacturer is marked up thou in price. I bought the 50 round box for $35 in February and that is 20 rounds for $30!

@HUNTER4639 Sort of. It's also the amount of gas and the bullet speed that can affect noise. So, short barrel+big bore+ fast bullet velocity=loudest noise

You can also make more noise by swapping to a slower powder. Higher pressure when the bullet gets to the muzzle = bigger boom. Also tends to give you a hell of a muzzle flash.
