2020-09-02 05:29:59 UTC

After getting a .22 would it be better to get a pistol or a shotgun?

2020-09-02 05:30:32 UTC

What are you after?

2020-09-02 05:30:43 UTC

Are you doing it for prepping, home defense...?

2020-09-02 05:33:29 UTC

Home defense and something I could grab when shtf

2020-09-02 05:33:44 UTC

Shotgun

2020-09-02 05:33:57 UTC

Do you have any recommendations?

2020-09-02 05:34:14 UTC

Normally I would

2020-09-02 05:34:22 UTC

But I don't know what availability is like in your area

2020-09-02 05:34:31 UTC

Mm

2020-09-02 05:34:43 UTC

You think a pawn shop could be a good way to go?

2020-09-02 05:34:59 UTC

Could be, yeah

2020-09-02 05:35:14 UTC

Bring a gun guy buddy with you that knows what to look for as far as condition goes

2020-09-02 05:35:40 UTC

I don't have one of those 😅

2020-09-02 05:35:53 UTC

Do you know of any gunsmiths in your area?

2020-09-02 05:36:02 UTC

Not sure to be honest

2020-09-02 05:36:06 UTC

I've never looked lol

2020-09-02 05:36:17 UTC

That'd be good for you to find out

2020-09-02 05:36:34 UTC

I sometimes have need of one, and I'm damn glad I know one

2020-09-02 05:36:42 UTC

Awesome

2020-09-02 05:36:49 UTC

I'll have to check around my area

2020-09-02 05:37:02 UTC

Thank you <:TrumpSmile:720121948088041513>

One thing that's nice about shotguns like a Remington 870 or a mossberg 500 is that you can get new barrels for them relatively easily

2020-09-02 05:37:42 UTC

Oh nice

2020-09-02 05:37:45 UTC

And they aren't difficult to replace

2020-09-02 05:38:10 UTC

I've heard about both of those shotguns but I've never shot either one

2020-09-02 05:38:10 UTC

Both of those are good shotguns, although the quality of new remington is kinda down these days

2020-09-02 05:38:14 UTC

Ah

2020-09-02 05:38:35 UTC

The phosphate finish on my 870 rusts even in a safe with moisture absorbing cans

2020-09-02 05:38:51 UTC

Also took a couple hundred rounds through it before it loosened up

2020-09-02 05:38:51 UTC

Dang

2020-09-02 05:39:13 UTC

That's unfortunate

2020-09-02 05:41:20 UTC

Yep

2020-09-02 05:44:47 UTC

for Remington 870 I hear go for wingmaster or an older model pre first bankruptcy. Mine is from the 80s still butter smooth. Mossberg 500 or Mossberg maverick 88 seem to have a lot of good reviews and addons

2020-09-02 05:45:03 UTC

too

2020-09-02 05:45:38 UTC

I know some dudes with older 870s that are smooth as glass

2020-09-02 05:45:58 UTC

Took mine like 200 or 300 rounds to get half as smooth

2020-09-02 13:16:43 UTC

If you have never bought a gun before compare prices and do research before buying. There is a gun shop in my town that targets new people who knows nothing of guns and charges out the ass for them

2020-09-02 13:50:30 UTC

Is that a new trend for them with the supply and demand as of late or always been a thing? Either way it gives the community a bad name. Everyone has to make a profit but there's a point of where it becomes malicious.
