yeah mine requires me trying to pry it open with a screw driver because its on a hinge and not a separate piece
that's the nice thing about American rifles
the cleaning kits were stored in the stock and thus have a door in the rear
making battery changes a breaze
at least full stock rifles
i believe with enough bullshitting you can make the stock the battery compartment
but unscrewing the stock is a bit of a hassle

now as for closing the dustcover, oh boi
i had to literally lean on the damn thing while it was braced against a counter for a good amount of time just to close it

im trying to find a way to disconnect it from the hinge so i can actually take it off withpout a screwdriver next time
