Very tru

2020-10-28 16:24:44 UTC

I use a waterproof bag

2020-10-28 16:24:58 UTC

you can keep YEARS worth of ammo in that

2020-10-28 16:25:08 UTC

kill rabbits, and such

2020-10-28 16:25:12 UTC

and save ammo using snares

2020-10-28 16:26:02 UTC

right. A good rifle also requires far less maintenance than a bow ime.

2020-10-28 16:26:25 UTC

However for long term survival, if you aren't worrying about looters, I'd say bow. Ammo is a finite supply while arrows can be reused and repaired.

However in SHTF where most people live, I want a gun.

2020-10-28 16:26:30 UTC

and it's takedown, it fits in the same waterproff bag as the ammo.

2020-10-28 16:26:36 UTC

oh yea

2020-10-28 16:26:40 UTC

definitely a bow is good

2020-10-28 16:26:46 UTC

but im saying early

2020-10-28 16:26:50 UTC

like first year or two

2020-10-28 16:27:09 UTC

a ruger 10/22 would be extremely useful

2020-10-28 16:27:14 UTC

ye, agreed. I don't want to be caught without a gun in a SHTF scenario.

2020-10-28 16:27:31 UTC

and can easily be silenced with an adaption, then you just steal an oil filter off a broken down car.

2020-10-28 16:28:00 UTC

right. you also have the option of 22kalibre if you can get really close to your game

2020-10-28 16:28:10 UTC

which is hella quite

2020-10-28 16:28:29 UTC

and if shit really gets bad you're out of ammo, the 22 takedown model has a hollow stock

2020-10-28 16:28:35 UTC

you can fit a knife in there

2020-10-28 16:28:40 UTC

some fishing line

2020-10-28 16:28:41 UTC

a hook

2020-10-28 16:28:52 UTC

and some tinder

2020-10-28 16:29:03 UTC

also another thing GET A BIKE

2020-10-28 16:29:32 UTC

you can buy a backpack folding bike

might come in handy to story in a car or something, but I doubt it's worth its weight if your in the mountains.

2020-10-28 16:30:48 UTC

even just a REGULAR bike

2020-10-28 16:30:57 UTC

if you're on flat terrain it can double your speed

2020-10-28 16:30:59 UTC

and save time

2020-10-28 16:31:31 UTC

or heck a longboard

2020-10-28 16:31:43 UTC

just anything wheel that will give you a speed advantage

2020-10-28 16:31:45 UTC

ye, fr. I have a nice xc (mountain) bike. If the roads are ever clogged or say there is an EMP attack, I can easily move 80+ miles a day on my bike.

2020-10-28 16:31:51 UTC

and limit physical exertion

2020-10-28 16:32:11 UTC

you can build a whole KIT around nothing but a bike

2020-10-28 16:32:14 UTC

With electric cars and hopefully eventually electric four wheelers starting to get cheaper I think they would be a better longer term grid down situation. If you have a generator or even better solar, you can indefinitely have transport while ICE, gas is a fine resource for you to store and has a shelf life

2020-10-28 16:32:44 UTC

if theres one thing i've learned

2020-10-28 16:33:01 UTC

you can travel 20 miles on a bike without knowing it til your tire pops and you gotta walk back home

2020-10-28 16:33:26 UTC

bikes infinitely speed you up compared to running or walking

2020-10-28 16:34:23 UTC

Depending on what type of EMP you are talking about, most vehicles won't be effected. A CME would take down the grid and potentially damage any grid connected devices not protected. However, nuclear EMP would fry everything but at that point, it would be an all out nuclear war so don't think I'd have to worry about not having working electronics for long.
