right. A good rifle also requires far less maintenance than a bow ime.

However for long term survival, if you aren't worrying about looters, I'd say bow. Ammo is a finite supply while arrows can be reused and repaired.

However in SHTF where most people live, I want a gun.

and it's takedown, it fits in the same waterproff bag as the ammo.

it fits in a bag folded

might come in handy to story in a car or something, but I doubt it's worth its weight if your in the mountains.

even just a REGULAR bike

if you're on flat terrain it can double your speed

and save time

or heck a longboard

just anything wheel that will give you a speed advantage

ye, fr. I have a nice xc (mountain) bike. If the roads are ever clogged or say there is an EMP attack, I can easily move 80+ miles a day on my bike.

and limit physical exertion

you can build a whole KIT around nothing but a bike

With electric cars and hopefully eventually electric four wheelers starting to get cheaper I think they would be a better longer term grid down situation. If you have a generator or even better solar, you can indefinitely have transport while ICE, gas is a fine resource for you to store and has a shelf life

if theres one thing i've learned

you can travel 20 miles on a bike without knowing it til your tire pops and you gotta walk back home

Depending on what type of EMP you are talking about, most vehicles won't be effected. A CME would take down the grid and potentially damage any grid connected devices not protected. However, nuclear EMP would fry everything but at that point, it would be an all out nuclear war so don't think I'd have to worry about not having working electronics for long.
