Hesco 4401 level 4 plates

2020-11-07 21:45:24 UTC

Atarmor had em for like 150 a piece back in March when I ordered

2020-11-07 21:46:09 UTC

Sorry 4400 not 4401

2020-11-07 21:48:09 UTC

So I'm looking at some level III+ plates vs the level IV from AR500, but is there a legitimate reason why Level IV would be worth spending significantly more?

I get it: more stopping power, but wouldnt the majority of what I'd be facing be stopped by III+ anyway?

2020-11-07 21:49:09 UTC

honestly? Because why not, and dont buy AR500

2020-11-07 21:49:16 UTC

I had my eye on the Level III+ from Ar500 also. I'd rather the basically infinite shelf life of steel versus the 10 or 15 year for the level 4 composite.

2020-11-07 21:49:32 UTC

That's my thought process.

2020-11-07 21:49:57 UTC

do you like spalling in your brain? get steel

2020-11-07 21:50:11 UTC

dont fall for meme anti spall coat

2020-11-07 21:50:51 UTC

Why not? Have you tested it? (honest question)

2020-11-07 21:51:03 UTC

plenty have

2020-11-07 21:51:55 UTC

you can get a level 4 ceramic plate for pretty cheap if you dont care about weight

2020-11-07 21:52:03 UTC

Wouldn't some of the spalling be stopped by either the coating and/or the vest, though?

2020-11-07 21:52:24 UTC

David can I link something here?

2020-11-07 21:52:31 UTC

Also ceramic usually still has a metal plate.

2020-11-07 21:52:40 UTC

Yes as long as it's on topic

2020-11-07 21:53:11 UTC
2020-11-07 21:53:16 UTC

also lol reddit

2020-11-07 21:55:46 UTC

One of my first critiques on that Reddit is AR500 is NIJ certified. Maybe that's a new thing that came after that post but still relevant to know.

2020-11-07 21:55:59 UTC

thats news to me honestly

2020-11-07 21:56:44 UTC

Or at least part of their line is

2020-11-07 21:57:37 UTC

It's one of those things where in my opinion if part of your line can get certified it says probably all are held to the same standard.

2020-11-07 21:59:10 UTC

fair enough, I would just rather have the piece of mind that combat proven armor provides

2020-11-07 21:59:14 UTC

@Stargatemaster96 I wouldnt go that far... but I do want to look into that

2020-11-07 21:59:35 UTC

Learn something every day, I admit my knowledge is lacking on Personal BA

2020-11-07 21:59:43 UTC

Is there a way to post videos to discord from your phone?

2020-11-07 22:00:05 UTC

Yes

2020-11-07 22:00:24 UTC

If it's a downloaded clip I think you can do it the same as a photo. For a Link you just paste the link.

2020-11-07 22:01:02 UTC

I might have to put it in my download filed

2020-11-07 22:01:06 UTC

Files

2020-11-07 22:01:18 UTC

Discord has a basic limit on file sz

2020-11-07 22:01:32 UTC

Its I think 10mb

2020-11-07 22:02:48 UTC

> I wouldnt go that far... but I do want to look into that
@Alpha-57 the reason not all the line is certified is the same reason as guns have in california where minor varriencies between guns had to be certified individually. Every size, build coat, rating, right vs left, minor new model changes, etc would need to be certified for all the armor to be certified and that would be very expressive and time consuming to do.

2020-11-07 22:04:58 UTC

I guess that's fair enough. I just have an inherent mistrust of untested equipment.

To be fair though, it might just be worth it to buy 3 plates, test 1 and use or return the other 2 depending on the results.

2020-11-07 22:04:59 UTC

In california, even a different colors of guns would need to be individually certified.

2020-11-07 22:08:32 UTC

Remind me again why people still live there (sane people, I mean)

2020-11-07 22:10:16 UTC

I can agree to the distrust on untested equipment..all I'll say is some of the plates given to use for protection was sometimes of let's say poor quality

2020-11-07 22:16:17 UTC

We all know wish.com has the best plates out there

2020-11-07 22:17:08 UTC

They can stop a 50 BMG or nothing...50/50 chance of what you will get.

2020-11-07 22:17:18 UTC

Lol
