nice.

can anyone recommend a relatively affordable, relatively lightweight long-gun safe? I want something I can move by myself and keep in a vehicle, because I am hopefully going to leave for college soon. I want to bring my rifle and airsoft gun, but ofc I don't want either unlocked if I am on a college campus. I think a 4-gun safe sounds about right. any ideas?

Chest rig time

A four gun rife safe is going to have to be decently large to hold all that and if you want it made out of steel for protection it's not going to be overly light. That's also going to likely mean it's also not cheap thou what you mean by affordable I'm not sure.

2020-11-11 23:47:51 UTC

about 200$ give or take

2020-11-11 23:48:10 UTC

I got some cash saved up, so I am not too picky when it comes to storing my stuff properly

2020-11-11 23:49:47 UTC

ok

2020-11-11 23:51:50 UTC

Most of the long gun safes are about $300 or more. Most of the cost just comes down to the price of steel. I see on Amazon a few for $200-250 but I'd research them we'll because they likely cut corners somewhere to hit that price. One of the best pistol safes on the market is made by Fort Knox and for a pistol safe cost $250.

Noone likes me chest rig sadd

2020-11-11 23:52:20 UTC

2020-11-11 23:52:56 UTC

Simple but effective

2020-11-11 23:53:43 UTC

so like a plano with a pad lock?

2020-11-11 23:56:24 UTC

Also, I'm sure you have already checked but know you state laws with guns and college campuses. Some states like Texas and Arkansas let you have a gun on campus if you have a concealed carry permit and others like Tennessee have Castle doctrine laws that cover your car so they can be on a campus as long as they remain in your private vehicle.

2020-11-11 23:57:38 UTC

Correct on the Arkansas bit

2020-11-11 23:58:49 UTC

I'm from Tennessee so I know Tennessees gun laws and I have a brother going to college in Texas so I know theirs also.

2020-11-12 00:00:03 UTC

Every state should have Castle doctrine laws but unfortunately they do not.

2020-11-12 00:00:16 UTC

My gals in UofA, so I checked the laws here...its been years since I've been to a trade school or college

2020-11-12 00:00:27 UTC

I agree on that

2020-11-12 00:01:54 UTC

I almost went to college at University of Arkansas for undergrad but didn't get offered enough scholarship money for it to be worth it when I could go in state in Tennessee and have most of my undergrad payed for.

2020-11-12 00:02:06 UTC

I am looking at a school in MO with the castle doctrine that applies to vehicles, so that's good

2020-11-12 00:05:11 UTC

Still double check the castle doctrine laws. While Tennessee has a really broad castle doctrine that protects you anywhere your vehicle is legally allowed to be, that doesn't necessarily mean all castle doctrine laws are the same.

2020-11-12 00:08:30 UTC

Make sure you know the laws well, even if you have the legal rights to have the gun in your car on campus, you can still get in trouble from people who do not know that. You only have to look at the news to see cases where people were legally allowed to use their 2A rights have problems because normal people don't know the laws

2020-11-12 00:13:16 UTC

right

2020-11-12 02:23:10 UTC

2020-11-12 02:57:26 UTC

Anyone know if I can have a firearm in the Corps Of Cadets at A&M. I know they have it where people living on campus can but I was wondering if the Corps Billeting has different rules.
