Have you tried Desert Eagles before?

2020-12-01 22:38:17 UTC

They seem a lot larger then Glocks

2020-12-01 22:45:34 UTC

I've carried full-frame firearms in the past and they print way too much for concealed carry. Not as big a problem now in Texas since they went with open carry, but could be a real issue if you want it concealed.

2020-12-01 22:48:09 UTC

ah i see

2020-12-01 22:49:16 UTC

wait, technically could we just not make a cut down version of the Desert Eagle? one that holds the same stopping power, but is more easy to conceal, and therefore better

2020-12-01 22:50:44 UTC

big part of the reason the DE is so big is because bigger frame = less felt recoil

2020-12-01 22:50:55 UTC

and .50 AE + small frame = wrist cracker

2020-12-01 22:51:29 UTC

even 9mm in the small P938 frame feels snappy. can't imagine anything bigger

2020-12-01 22:52:50 UTC

Being a great fat man, with a blown right rotator cuff and a bad right elbow I can't carry at 3 or 4 o'clock or spine, and refuse to carry at front (Rule #2), so I have to carry in cross draw at about 10:30. So a large frame prints easy on me.

2020-12-01 22:53:24 UTC

DE makes firearms in several calibers, but they are full frame.

2020-12-01 22:53:37 UTC

I'm well aware

2020-12-01 22:53:47 UTC

my point is .50AE in small frame would be fucking stupid

2020-12-01 22:53:52 UTC

To chime in on the pinky hanging off the grip issue, there are good mag extenders on the market.

2020-12-01 22:53:54 UTC

50 cal in a handgun isn't fun, dont care how big the frame is.

2020-12-01 22:53:55 UTC

or 44 mag or whatever else

2020-12-01 22:54:17 UTC

my Glock 30 in .45 doesn't feel very good after a few mag dumps lol

2020-12-01 22:55:06 UTC

I shot a DE once and one thing i noticed was that its heavy so less felt recoil yes, but for some reason it doesnt really feel balanced

2020-12-01 22:55:44 UTC

DE's were designed to be ridiculous and they achieved that lol

2020-12-01 22:55:50 UTC

9mm kills the body, while 50 AE kills the soul

2020-12-01 22:56:20 UTC

as well as destroys the body

2020-12-01 22:56:25 UTC

easy 2 in 1 package

2020-12-01 22:57:56 UTC

Yes there are and I've used some. Some aren't as durable as I'd like and really don't like to use them on my EDC. I've had an extension wear out, pop the cover and spew the mag contents on the ground. That would be a bad day if you really needed a loaded weapon. That said i shoot a lot and my mags are well used, the failure was due to rubbing against the side of my range bag.

2020-12-01 22:58:41 UTC

Fair enough. I've never used mag extenders because my G19 fits my hands well, but I have heard good things about Taran Tactical mag extenders if you haven't tried them out yet.

2020-12-01 22:59:15 UTC

The main issue with a 50 cal is repeat rounds and getting the beast back on target for round 2, 3 ... 15 if needed.

2020-12-01 22:59:39 UTC

The failure was a TT extension.

2020-12-01 22:59:47 UTC

Ah

2020-12-01 22:59:59 UTC

It was my fault, not the mag's, but put me off.

2020-12-01 23:00:48 UTC

carried a G19 for years, only switched to reduce printing.

2020-12-01 23:00:51 UTC

Understandable. More chance for failure is not something to take lightly in an EDC scenario.

2020-12-01 23:06:28 UTC

I now have a couple of mags designated as carry mags and keep a closer eye on them. When heading to the range I leave those in the truck safe before I get out. They don't wallow around in my range bag. That's why I feel ok about using a mag extender on the backup mag. I put a strip of Gorilla tape around the base of that extension for a bit more protection. My second backup mag is a OEM 10 round.

2020-12-01 23:08:18 UTC

I have a similar setup. Couple of mags set aside for carry and a handful of OEM and magpul magazines for range time. And a 33 round if I want to make people laugh.

2020-12-01 23:09:09 UTC

I carry full size

2020-12-01 23:25:37 UTC

AK-50 is looking good

2020-12-01 23:25:44 UTC

i am hyped to get one

2020-12-01 23:25:45 UTC

I carried a G17 before the G19 were available, but printing then could be called as open carry by some zealous LEO so I felt the need to wear a jacket in Texas in the summer. I had the choice of protection with heat-stroke or surviving the summer.

2020-12-01 23:26:33 UTC

have u seen demos vid on the phone gun

2020-12-01 23:26:37 UTC

fun story

2020-12-01 23:26:55 UTC

like the gun that prints like a phone

2020-12-01 23:44:20 UTC

I just received G-Sight dry fire training system and tried it out. It's really cool when dry firing because it can tell you your grouping or score depending on the mode and target you use.

Phone gun is little more than a toy, it only carries two rounds and must be manipulated before using. If you have time for that, you probably don't need the gun. I carry 41 rounds, 15+1 in the weapon, and a 10 round and 15 round backup mags. If I only need two, I'm covered, if I need more than two I'm still covered.

2020-12-01 23:45:04 UTC

what is this phone gun you speak of?
