I think even Gen Z blacks, which I think have an over 70% single parent situation are saying that they have, or are optimistic in finding, a home in the republican party.

Depends on the state, state laws and the officers. I know a great many LEOs (own a gun range with several officers that caters to law enforcement) from Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma. I've had this discussion with dozens of officers at every level, local state and even federal. So far I haven't found a single officer that would enforce any kind of gun confiscation, but then most of the folks I deal with are solidly pro-gun. Very few would enforce most of the gun control laws being promoted by the left. There have been a couple of officers who have moved away from the street and into the politics of department management who have made statements about "if it's the law we enforce the law". When pushed though they waffle on being the guy knocking on MY door to ask for MY firearms. They are only ok with it if they can send someone else to to the dirty work. That is the same reason these coward politicians are ok with making such laws, they are never the ones having to enforce such illegal laws.

In Texas, Law Enforcement at nearly every level takes an oath to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution and laws
of the United States". That oath, in Texas, will prohibit LEO's from executing state laws that violate the clear and precise language of the Constitution of the United States, and will make that officer criminally and civilly liable for his actions in that regard.

++++ Universal Background Checks – Just how will that be implemented?? I’m at an estate sale in Pandale Texas on a Sunday afternoon and the guy has an old Mossberg .410 shotgun for $150. How do we get a background check on that sale, and how much will it cost?? ... and what prevents us from saying screw ‘em and make the deal anyway?? We could NEVER be prosecuted for the crime. No one knows who owns that firearm (or any other firearm), they have no way to prove any law was violated. In order to enforce a universal background check, law enforcement MUST KNOW who owns EVERY firearm in the nation. That will REQUIRE them to search every square inch of every home, business and vehicle of every citizen in the country (a violation of the Fourth Amendment). That law is merely a facade to make the leftists believe "something is being done".

I wonder how many people would support universal background checks if the question was posed like this: ""Do you support universal background checks which will require the repeal of the Fourth Amendment and allow the federal government to search EVERY home, business, building, vehicle, safety deposit box of EVERY person in the country at any time they wished??”"

YES we have too much gun violence in this country, but it has been DECREASING since the mid 80’s such that the gun crime rate now is HALF of what it was in the mid 80’s. Panic mongering in the media and ill-informed articles have the sheeple believing that the gun crime rate is soaring exponentially higher every year, when the FACTS show quite the opposite.

YES there is way too much gun violence in this country. Placing more laws on the backs of people who are NOT committing those crimes will do NOTHING to change that level of violence. According to the FBI website, over half of ALL gun violence is gang/drug related. Over 90% of all “children” (under 18) who are victims of gun violence is gang/drug related. We don’t have a gun problem we have a gang problem. Remove gang/drug violence from the stats, and this nation has a comparable gun crime rate with the UK.

Thank you, Bar. I appreciate your input and you really bring a lot to this conversation.

2020-12-15 16:11:54 UTC

I guess in terms of my question, it's a sort of mutual respect. Like, being incredibly thankful for the hard work officers do in this country and the respect from the police of your constitutionally protected rights.

2020-12-15 16:12:14 UTC

But seriously, you bring up a lot of good points, thank you for chiming in.

2020-12-15 16:23:23 UTC

better yet, we have a population capable of defending itself in times of crisis when the police can't do their jobs effectively

2020-12-15 16:24:59 UTC

i dont know how to get my thoughts out in a concise manner. :/

They’ll investigate that but not political corruption.

2020-12-15 17:43:12 UTC

eh, no problem spicy. neither am i. I really dont like sharing my essays with people either, so its cool. :)

2020-12-15 18:17:35 UTC

I was always told by my English professors that I was too short so I kept trying to make them shorter while saying the same thing

2020-12-15 18:42:49 UTC

yes samee. It was fun at private school, b/c they assigned us 2000 word essays. made it super easy for me, but when I switched to public school, my teachers said "i only have time to grade a 600 word essay, and know i probably wont even read more than the first paragraph." :\

2020-12-15 19:42:18 UTC

I'd like to read it, just to see if you hit the same points I've thought about.

2020-12-15 19:45:17 UTC

it mostly just does the basics, like for example, with the whole thing about banning or restricting guns not really reducing the amount of crime and that any reduction of crime was already happening

2020-12-15 19:47:34 UTC

then theres also the fact that no nation would be capable of invading a country with an armed population especially the size of the US

2020-12-15 19:49:12 UTC

i think i also mentioned a few common things like the whole Detroit, chicago and New york having some of the highest crime rates, despite having the strictest gun laws

2020-12-15 20:08:56 UTC

Does a 30 cal can work on a 30-06 or are the pressures to much

2020-12-15 20:31:25 UTC

Don't think they work

2020-12-15 20:31:37 UTC

You got 30 cal, 30-06, 30-30

2020-12-15 20:31:42 UTC

I don't really know

2020-12-15 21:42:18 UTC

30-30 uses a .308 cal bullet, so you can a put a .308win can on a 30-30. keep in my, 30-30 pressures are lower or equal to a .308win though, and that is why usually safe. I * believe * 30-06 is also loaded with .308 bullets, however, like Winchester said, the pressure will be far higher. idk much about cans, but ik you need to verify that the can is rated for the pressure of a 30-06 or higher if you intend to use one.
