Civil unrest is here. I don't think it will die down anytime soon.

We had years of civil unrest (and more) from the other side. While I don't agree with most of it I can see why the other side may do the same but hopefully it would be more civil disabediance which is peaceful.

Guys I really need some help. It’s at least another 3 months until my dad can get his gun license. Disarmed for 3 whole months while the left is tearing up the constitution. Frankly I do not know what I could possibly do. Buy a crossbow? Move to Texas? Anything?

If he also has a specific threat on his life some states have an emernacy temporary way to get a carry permit while you wait for a normal permit.

Also, if you were going to move specifically for this, move to a state with constitutional carry like Arkansas so you can carry any pistol you own.

Everything that went down today finally convinced me to drop a large sum on body armor. Hope I won't ever need it, particularly not anytime soon because it's a long wait on my order.

I was smart once, then I was out of work for a few months and had to use my savings.

I had been planning for this for awhile. Well it was actually set aside for a new gun or armor but decided with all this armor would be more prudent because I already have some guns.

This also wasn't from my emergency fund, I love pew pew toys but that is a break in case of emergency.

honestly, baseball bats arent a bad option for home defense, but it helps to have a plan in place so everyone in the fam can respond to the threat in case you go down. Simple thing my family established a long time ago, was that if there was ever an intruder to yell "Dad, get your gun!!," even if he wasnt home, because everyone in our family knew it meant there was an intruder or somekind. Not to mention, if you yell something like that, it will likely scare the shit out of someone. Another thing you might try is a non-functioning shotgun. Obviously, its not ideal, but I have some friends who have an old broken shotgun. Because it can not be repaired, its 100% legal for almost anyone to own, but just check your local laws in case. They actually used it to scare of an intruder one night, because it looked real enough. If shits gets roudy, you can use it as a club. I'd stay away from knives for a variety of reasons, but if its all u got, those are better than nothing too.

If you don't give him money he can gift you it by private transfer legally but when you give him money it's a straw purchase because you are otherwise not legal. That's my understanding of the law.
