and they are VERY traditional... Tradition is 3rd in place to God and his word.
I understand that
as do I
@_Jacob
denomination
noun
1.
a recognized autonomous branch of the Christian Church.
"the Presbyterian community is the second largest denomination in the country"
yes?
Protestant, Lutheran, Catholic, Orthodox. They are all denominations of the Christian church
a section/sector is a branch
I'm in a Christian discord server, there's primary denominations and secondary denominations
^^
I didn't realize Christian discord servers existed 😂
I'm in it cause it's funny to go into music and play "Burn your crosses" and other metal songs
I would argue that the 'primary denominations' would better fit the description or Sect
but maybe thats just the protestant pov
I'm brought up under a Catholic taught mother and a Protestant father. I affiliate myself with the Protestant Denomination. But my parents say we are a non-denominational christian family.
I dunno, I'm a Methodist so we tend to be the forgotten child of the bunch
Not in the UK they arent
There are other secondary denominations more forgotten, but we're still forgotten compared to many others
https://www.dictionary.com/browse/denomination @_Jacob here is the official dictionary website with the definition
I say we're forgotten because in that server there's no Methodist role, so I don't have a belief role
I know certain denominations completely denounce LGBTQ+ members. More so Gay and Lesbians. While I am brought up under the teaching of some of the OT (mother). I do feel rejecting LGBTQ+ members is not the wisest thing. I won't partake in those actions, but I won't denounce everyone in the community. I will show them the love of Jesus Christ like the bible says.
No one is perfect, and it is not our place to judge others. The role of judge is left to God himself
I don't believe the family dynamic works with LGBTQ+, but if you wanna screw a guy as a girl I won't agree with it, but I won't stop you(If it's consentual)
That's how I have been taught and my understanding of it that is. I've spoken to others about it and most tend to agree with me.

@Deleted User ofc. Same with me.
> I will show them the love of Jesus Christ like the bible says.
@Osha19 I think there's a balance between speaking Truth, and speaking Love.
Some people wield the Truth as if its a spiked club, bitter and hateful. But others go after love and end up embracing not just sinners, but the sin itself. Christians, imo, need to be better at speaking Truth, in Love, not just one or the other
@Osha19 and, the comma denotes two seperate ideas, a) christianity is ok by my and b) hey look at this cool thing the pope did

@_Jacob the lines sighted in the bible against gay say not that being gay is a sin but having sex is, which, granted made sense back then, they had no lube/disinfected/medicine/condoms. I think the clause was added so nobody had to have stds
uh,
no. It is just wrong in our religion. Man was not made for Man.
Man was made for Woman and vice versa
there are no underlying reasons. its a simple plain as day reason. God created Man for Woman and Woman for Man.
e=the only lines in the bilble against gays is explicitly against their lustful acts
@chaz We can agree that the verses refer to the activity itself rather than the attraction, however homosexual activity was incredibly common in Ancient Rome, even Emperor Nero was married to two men. The verses relating to homosexuality are not cultural, and make up part of the moral law in Leviticus. The verses in First Timothy and Romans etc also call it dishonourable and immoral.
Sex is part of the sacrament of marriage, and the Bible is very clear that marriage should be between man and wife, and that sex should only be part of marriage.
but the bible, if you read the old hebrew, doesn't actually gender adam and eve, food for though.
...
It does
wanna know my sources?
