Trying to do works to get into Heaven (as with all the others) would be as if you robbed a bank, shot the guard, but gave all the money with some of your own to the needy. The judge will still judge you on your crimes

They are likely what are called "False Converts"
This is when a person 'gets saved' either being not truly accepting the gift of salvation, or by being told false doctrine

Also, many of us Christians don't call ourselves a religion. Religion can be corrupted and false. We take Christianity as a relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ

We just refer to it as a relationship with God.

Once you form that relationship, if you work to grow it, you can't lose it.

I wouldn't want to put my life in the hands of a corruptible religion that's maintained by man. I put my life in the hands of my creator, my savor, God and His Son Jesus

Jesus Himself handled this while here on earth. The ones who were religious and claimed to be for God, were the very ones who accused Him and sentenced Him to death

One analogy I've heard for the relationship with God is: If there is a girl (or a guy in your instance) that you like, and you want to have a relationship with them, they are probably going to make you work for it. It'll be up to you to grow that relationship with them.

A different analogy I know, but less about the relationship part and more to salvation, is: You trust Jesus like you would a parachute. You know you're going to have to jump at some point (death) and the parachute is the only thing that will save you from hitting to ground and dying.

Jesus said we would face hardships and tribulations. That would be as wearing the parachute in the plane. It doesn't make the trip perfect at all, but it comforts you because you know that you'll be ok in the end

I’m pretty sure every religion has its own somewhat unique prayer structure, and it’s pretty interesting to see prayers from other religions.

Christianity prayer doesnt really have a prayer structure. Well there is the Lord's prayer. Prayer is talking to God so it based on your relationship with God. Which is different for every Christian
