@Christmas Bat Melinoë Those are writing in Hebrew and Geek. Geek has 4 different words for love. Maybe 3 words
Human can't achieve perfectness. We need the help of God
Amen to that. We have a free will, the freedom to choose what we want--but that does not extend to the consequences. Free to choose what we do, not free to choose the consequences.
Even then there is no perfection to anyone human this side of the grave. God's help is for helping us live right, how we should, to grow, mature as Christians, to be more obedient and submissive to Him. But, perfection won't come until we're liberated from this corruptible flesh we're housed in.
Guys I just want to apologise for posting the pope picture yesterday. I didn't expect this argument to happen. I'm sorry.
The argument is fine if people will keep their heads and acknowledge things as they are, or at least civilly talk through things. You're not the cause of any problem--at least here for all I know! 🙂
I agree with u about the pope, some people might not agree.
If I recall what you said, I agree the Pope is a joke.
Yes I did say that.
I can’t see how someone can be homosexual and be a Christian.
Right, like I said, it's contradictory. It's like saying Christian murderers or Christian bank robbers. Just tacking "Christian" on what is a sin, what the Bible identifies as a sin.
What about ppl who identify as homosexual but haven't committed sexual acts. Do u think they are sinner? @DannyNC1
I mean we’re all sinners no matter what.
Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount handled about lust in the heart, showing it is equally as much of a sin as the act itself. But, like Rom. 3:23 shows, we are all sinners regardless.
I know someone who doesn't do the act but has temptation.
I think i remember reading about how god sees sin equally, and equally hates it.
These folks need prayer and patient witnessing to them. There is a chance that they can come to God in salvation since Paul explained even people in Corinth had been homosexuals, but, 1 Cor. 6:11, "And such were some of you..." They got saved and turned from that.
Me as a man, I’m tempted all the time with lust. Not acting on that lust is the hard part
There are actually some things that would qualify to Him as being abominations, and they are some things we don't expect, though homosexuality as I explained is one of those. Prov. 6:16-19 shows seven things that are an abomination to Him, and lying is twice on the list.
Same @Milkgamer55
All sin is bad because it separates us from a relationship with God. One sin or a million sins, same result
That’s why we have to keep a short accounts with god and ask for forgiveness often
@DannyNC1 hey off topic but do you know the 3 or 4 words of love in greek. I don't remember. I know one is agape
@Milkgamer55 If you're a red-blooded male that is breathing, I think we all have a problem with it.
Yes that is true
Yes, but it really doesn't matter because they are used interchangeably in the Bible--the two main ones are agape and phileo. They aren't different types which can be proven from the text. Many people get that mistaken.
Imagine believing biblical love means I must affirm and accept your every degenerate ways of life.
Yes and the other is about sexual love and there also another too.
Yeah, somehow people think the Biblical love means that, but don't realize that biblical love is preaching the Gospel to them that they need to be saved before it's too late--that involves calling out sin.
The sexual love is not in the Greek text.
Biblical joy is an amazing feeling.
No but Greek have 4 different words for love
The love God teaches and understood by the biblical authors is to bring the greatest good to one individual or group, irrespective of how they feel. It's not something the biblical authors would conceive that includes saying "I am okay that you feel molesting children is ok".
Not talking about the bible
@Milkgamer55 It's the only joy that's really, fully satisfying, because it's joy in the Lord.
Just greek language
The love God taught is *agape*.
Not storge nor eros.
@Smash Boy There you go--phileo too.
That means even a psychopath can love in the agape sense. Because love is something you *do* not feel.
What is storge
