The dems are anti religion

2020-12-19 02:11:35 UTC

Ok. So I believe in a communion of saints in heaven. Just as we are uplifted and strengthened but a faithful community on earth, I believe the same is true in heaven. The saints act as vehicles to help understand god and his will, not as objects of worship. I don’t believe that praying to saints is blasphemous or in contrary to the commandment to not put false gods before my lord because I do not think the saints are gods. Just as I would ask a friend to pray for me, pray for a sick family member, or pray for an end to abortion, I ask the saints to intercede for me. Though they were not perfect on earth, they are made perfect in their ascension to heaven- nothing impure enters heaven, which is why I believe in purgatory- an opportunity for purification and redemption before entering heaven. Questions?

Why have purgatory when you have an entire life to get saved?

2020-12-19 02:15:04 UTC

Well you can't pary after death, saints have no power at all they are just like me and you

2020-12-19 02:16:42 UTC

There no such thing there is even a verse that says you can't pray after death so saints can't ethier they are human not superior humans they are regular humans

2020-12-19 02:17:17 UTC

Pray* lol

2020-12-19 02:17:23 UTC

Opps

2020-12-19 02:18:35 UTC

I haven’t read anything in the Bible about saints being special, except maybe Elijah getting taken to heaven

2020-12-19 02:18:52 UTC

Because humans are imperfect. There is impurity that seeps into even the most perfect lives. I believe that god is ever merciful. Purgatory is a place where those who have been unable to go to confession or do penance for all their sins can be purified and forgiven before entering into heaven. I believe it is honestly a sign of justice. God forgives humans- those on deaths row and those with near perfect lives. If they truly seek the kingdom of heaven, I believe it is more just that they are in purgatory and do penance as god sees fit before entering the kingdoms heaven.

2020-12-19 02:18:53 UTC

what does "saint" even mean

2020-12-19 02:19:04 UTC

Even then, he isn't any different

2020-12-19 02:19:33 UTC

well, purgatory is a catholic church invention

2020-12-19 02:19:44 UTC

What is penance

2020-12-19 02:20:00 UTC

It was only invented to get people to pay the church

2020-12-19 02:20:05 UTC

like repent

2020-12-19 02:20:12 UTC

A saint is a human who has entered heaven, whether we know it or not. There are some humans we believe have entered into heaven because of how they lived their lives, like Mary

2020-12-19 02:20:25 UTC

no one entered "heaven"

2020-12-19 02:20:30 UTC

everyone is asleep waiting

2020-12-19 02:20:32 UTC

No one enters Heaven through works

2020-12-19 02:20:48 UTC

works? you mean obediance

2020-12-19 02:20:49 UTC

?

2020-12-19 02:21:07 UTC

Purgatory doesn't even exist many bible verse prove it

2020-12-19 02:21:09 UTC

You can only get to Heaven through faith

2020-12-19 02:21:21 UTC

do i dont have to obey,, got it

2020-12-19 02:21:39 UTC

why would there be rules, if we dont need them

2020-12-19 02:21:44 UTC

Like Mary Jesus got upset with mary

2020-12-19 02:21:47 UTC

Penance is basically your payment for your sins. When I go to confession or reconciliation, I follow up with penance like extra service, extra prayer, etc so that I may be truly saved from my sinful nature

2020-12-19 02:22:07 UTC

You can't pay for sins

2020-12-19 02:22:17 UTC

you canrt pray your way into being good.. you cant do extra work like that

2020-12-19 02:22:32 UTC

Which is un-Biblical. The Catholic church only created that because the pope wanted to be rich

2020-12-19 02:22:44 UTC

If you can pay for sins.vthen Jesus sacrifice was pointless

2020-12-19 02:22:46 UTC

Maybe it’s not the best way to word it, but that’s essentially my belief. How do you reconcile your sins?

2020-12-19 02:22:51 UTC

the best thing is trying your best to follow his laws and that includes "jesus's" teachings

2020-12-19 02:23:28 UTC

we cannot reconcile, we repent and turn around meaning, stop doing it and stay on the right path

2020-12-19 02:24:12 UTC

it sounds like you are catholic froshe, is that right?

2020-12-19 02:24:29 UTC

By having faith that he forgive all your sins. Because even though some sins seems bigger than others hey are the same amount to God.

2020-12-19 02:24:39 UTC

You ask God yourself. He forgives you. Nobody can repent for you.

2020-12-19 02:24:53 UTC

I would argue the sins aren't the same

2020-12-19 02:25:04 UTC

murder isn't the same as coveting

2020-12-19 02:25:05 UTC

They very much are in the eyes of God

2020-12-19 02:25:06 UTC

I believe that true repentance includes deepened prayer, the sacrament or reconciliation, and promising to move forward on a better path and following through. But if there is no way to reconcile on earth and no purgatory, truly how are we imperfect humans to make it to heaven
