hello

2020-12-20 06:37:17 UTC

I see nobody has joined besides u

2020-12-20 06:37:36 UTC

Lol

2020-12-20 06:37:51 UTC

@Lambton To your point: selfishness and pride, yes. but i'd rather try to pay off the debt and die trying rather than relying, and worst, hurting someone for my own good

2020-12-20 06:38:07 UTC

First of all we have to acknowledge that Jesus is God. Second we have to acknowledge that God can and will forgive but He must also be just. This means that someone had to take the punishment in order that we could be forgiven

2020-12-20 06:38:15 UTC

Humans can’t pay off their debt, because no human is perfect, only Jesus is

2020-12-20 06:39:13 UTC

The thing is that you hurt Him more by not accepting than you do by accepting. Also, by not accepting you work against paying your debt rather than amending it

2020-12-20 06:39:20 UTC

Thank goodness Jesus came to provide a way for salvation

2020-12-20 06:39:28 UTC

We are flawed as humans, Christ came mercifully as a servant to lay His life down to take the sins of the world

2020-12-20 06:39:33 UTC

How would that look like? Do u stop at a red light twice to make up for the one u passed. 🤔

2020-12-20 06:39:39 UTC

then a merit system then to prove how close we come to perfection. i do not believe where you're automatically atoned for it

2020-12-20 06:39:59 UTC

Jesus paid the ransom for our souls when he died.

2020-12-20 06:40:13 UTC

We are all equally far from perfection. It’s an all or nothing scale and that can’t be changed

2020-12-20 06:40:22 UTC

That’s what Jesus came to destroy, that’s basically what Judiasim is, but God sent Jesus to be merciful to us

2020-12-20 06:40:41 UTC

Also it is a merit system, there is only one act that can actually bring merit

2020-12-20 06:40:57 UTC

in Buddhism, there are 7 layers of hell. there is a list of all your sins and you went through all the punishments, paying for it. it might take decades and decades, but eventually you'll reincarnate.

2020-12-20 06:41:11 UTC

Sin is like a jail cell, the cell feels nice and warm inside, but when jesus comes back the cell closes and you face judgement

2020-12-20 06:41:26 UTC

Jesus took the weight of every sin, descended into Hell, and took back they key to Hell.

2020-12-20 06:41:31 UTC

I don’t know about that -milk

2020-12-20 06:41:35 UTC

Christ was sent as a humble servant who is perfect to die for our sins and take them up on himself so we can have eternal life with him. The reason we were punished like we were in the garden is because only perfect people could dwell in there with God, but God do not for sake us, God still loved us so he sent his son like He promised in Genesis

2020-12-20 06:41:37 UTC

well. i acknowledge my sins. i don't acknowledge that jesus/god have to bear the brunt of it for me

2020-12-20 06:42:21 UTC

God had to bear all of it for you he took all your sins and for gave them

2020-12-20 06:42:23 UTC

One thing that even most Christians don't understand about Hell is that, it's not a place of literal fire. It is a Godless place. There is no light in Hell.

2020-12-20 06:42:23 UTC

lol What?

2020-12-20 06:42:26 UTC

Acknowledging your sins means nothing unless you choose to act in such a way as to amend them. The only thing is that there is only one path to amending them

2020-12-20 06:42:29 UTC

well, similar to in Buddhism: there is a list of all your sins and you went through all the punishments, paying for it. it might take decades and decades, but eventually you'll reincarnate.

2020-12-20 06:43:02 UTC

surely god does not give you one choice

2020-12-20 06:43:24 UTC

Sin is not like a jail cell lol, if you wanted to compare it to something pleasurable I’d say it’s like a bathtub, the first ten minutes feel good and then it begins to suffocate you and drain the life out of you

2020-12-20 06:43:25 UTC

commit less sins. don't veer toward the 7 purgatory traits

2020-12-20 06:43:43 UTC

Only through Jesus does one receive salvation

2020-12-20 06:43:45 UTC

that's not much a choice if being with him felt wrong

2020-12-20 06:43:52 UTC

You’re right He gives us two. Be forgiven, or don’t

2020-12-20 06:44:08 UTC

That would mean that God doesn't love. He loves us so much that he sent his son, *His son*, to die for us. We don't deserve it, but then again, we don't deserve anything nice that God has given us.

2020-12-20 06:44:15 UTC

That’s the Abrahamic covenant of the Torah and how Judaism is, but God came as a man to lay down his life so that he could take our sins, because we are not perfect

2020-12-20 06:44:17 UTC

That's a good thing. Also remember that "the doors of hell are locked from the inside". God doesn't send us to hell, we do that on our own.

2020-12-20 06:44:19 UTC

i don't think i can ever not feel guilty

2020-12-20 06:44:34 UTC

What is this in reference to?

2020-12-20 06:44:55 UTC

This

2020-12-20 06:45:45 UTC

well. again, this is where i think i differ from you religious folks. i don't like the idea of having to burden someone else with my sins. because i'd rather die a sinner trying to be perfect rather than a sinner that got all their sins forgiven without conscious effort from myself

2020-12-20 06:45:58 UTC

burden jesus with my sins

2020-12-20 06:46:03 UTC

Jesus did it willingly.
