Yeah, that's a great analogy of purposely rejecting God.
planning a (failed) coup against God is one 😂
Why eles did he die on the cross?
This may very well be the case, I wasn’t there at the time but I’ll know when I get to Heaven I think
I already stated this
i mean, we never actually know about it? the bible (at least the version i've), don't say the specific about the original sin aside from "the apple"
By this, I know I’m going to Heaven but even when I’m there I might not figure out all the details
No Jesus cleaned out dirty hands
Please reference which message lol too many sent
To open the gates of heaven. Heaven wasn't open for business before Jesus opened it. He also opened them for all the "heroes" of the old testament waiting in "limbo" (abraham's bossom).
what do you do when you come to heaven, though? what do you become? a mindless spirit worshipping god? or free? how does heaven even works?
Wait are you catholic?
*if u love somebody, set them free*
Is that why Elijah was tooken to heaven
this was to an example somebody gave me that by dying jesus was paying our sins for us. my knowledge is that you can only go to heaven if you accept the saving grace, anyhow. and so jesus died only for some, while others (maybe, like me) that doesn't think jesus died for us is just still "kill" jesus anyway
This is a brilliant question lol. It’s something I have thought about too. We don’t know what form we will necessarily take but we know that it will be perfect. This may mean that it will be something like what Adam and Eve originally were. Immortal and perfect with full potential. That said we know that we will be able to meet with other and that we will have homes. We know that we will be comforted and that we will be safe. Our existences will serve to glorify God through what we do. We will also likely literally praise God.
no. i'm religiously homeless. i believe in a creator but not christian god specifically
Sounds like your trying to buy a gift and are worried about buying the best gift. But your parents will be happy with the gift just because the gift is giving by their son.
i was thinking of more the "pandora box" effect. maybe it's something we released in the perfect world god creates and thus we must pay
Oh now I understand you a bit more
The bible never said an apple
That is actually important
It’s very important actually
it sounds wrong, to me though. it's something i struggle with a lot. god is selfish/narcissistic if he creates us only to worship him.
We know that some heroes were directly admitted into heaven. Some "heroes" went to "abraham's bossom"... I read something called "the harrowing of hell", it's where Jesus went in those three days before the resurrection.
This is false, God did create a perfect world
i don't think so. some gifts make them more happy than others
Do think purgatory is real?
yeah, no. it's not an apple
I know
We first have to establish one thing. God doesn’t have to abide by the same rules we do, that said, God created us for a purpose. What I mean by worship is that God, from what I know, created us to walk WITH Him. By fulfilling this purpose we are worshipping God
First of all satan/lucifer have seen the power and glory of God. He should have know that he should not mess with God. There was 0% chance for him to overthrow God. But pride got in his way.
Do you get me?
Ok, God created the world perfectly. Free will was also perfect. We chose to screw up the world. We agree on this right?
The concept does make sense...i haven't delved into it so much. From what i know it is an "in between" of heaven and hell.
but what about the angels? the angels are supposed to worship AND protect him
well. we'll be having a very different conversation if satan/lucifer's coup was successful
God doesn’t need protection. The angels were made to do Gods bidding. In this they worship Him. They also literally worship him
Ok cool
Well this disproves purgatory
“Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’
Luke 16:24â€-‬26
Proof of no Purgatory
