well, then there's no free will at all. he doesn't want us to think for ourselves. he doesn't even want us to consider perhaps there are a greater power to him/the three deities
you're christians (or whatever your religion is) and thus you believe the one true god is the jesus/god/the three deities. but someone from another religion will think differently (ie. THEIR religion's god).
Free will doesn’t rely on what God wants if He chooses to let us do what we choose. If your parents tell you not to do something and they are thinking of your benefit, but you decided to do it anyways. You hurt them. You will hurt yourself. But you still had the free will to do it
