Yeah
If it's being used as an insult I think it's a sin
That’s my best guess. The 11th commandment isn’t, though shall not use the f-bomb
i dont think curse words matter too much
after all, someone kinda just decided they were bad for no reason
I mean, Jesus himself said ass multiple times in the Bible. But that was when it still meant donkey
"the lords name in vain" refers to curse words with the use of the word god or jesus
Like God followed by dammit
Or using "God!" or "Jesus!" as an exclamation.
Yeah
i try to curb my use of that but not other curse words
key word **try**
Same
No, we can’t just keep sinning after we’ve been saved. God hates hypocrisy.
This isn’t to say that Christians are perfect and don’t sin, or that they don’t still struggle with sin and addiction to some sins.
What it means is that we know it’s wrong and feel the gilt for it. We are sorry for doing it, and don’t want to do it
Sounds about right.
Hypocrisy would definitely be planning to commit the sin and planning to ask for forgiveness.
"It's fine, I'll just ask for forgiveness later"
Doesn't work.
Have any of you heard the arguments about whether or not Christians are allowed to kill somebody in self defense?
i think we are
but abortion
no no no
thats a sin
Yep
Indeed, we have "Thou shalt not kill", but clearly God lead troops to victory in various battles, so it likely applies to murder.
Jesus said that we can defend ourselves.
War and murder are different things, though
You speak to God through your thoughts if you say it in your head isnt it the same as saying it out loud?
Yup...one is premeditated (murder) and the other can be in self defense (war).
To my understanding yes.
Yep. It is no different.
Saying you hate someone in ur head is no different than saying it out loud to God.
So you had to think of it to type it right?
The important thing is that you can choose to reject those thoughts and still be forgiven.
Yeah...
Blasphemy is or isn't forgivable?
i have learned to forgive my real life enemies because some of the things they have done to me ended up for the better
I think that acting out something isn't the same as thinking it.
It is unless it's the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit
